The "i" Will Never Be The Same, But Everlasting

Our cover story on Steve Jobs, who sparked a revolution in technology, is not intended to be a bio on him but more on what his genius produced and how it changed the way we do business. The company Jobs co-founded into one of the world's great industrial design houses, transformed business devices that catapulted us into the 21st century at a warp speed that has now set in motion, a slew of electronic device innovations that can thank Jobs for his pioneering vision & products (iMac, iPhone, iPod, iPad, etc.). Not to mention becoming blueprints for future technology endeavors fast underway from both Apple and competitors.

With Jobs' recent passing, we realize this man's indelible handprint will remain. Though seeming larger than life, he was human after all, creating with his team, an avalanche of brilliant inventions - and a few missteps used as springboards for improved products. We glimpse at both to show that dedication to invention doesn't falter, but rather, thrives and move forward on inspiration.

Don't miss other informative content in this issue; notably a fine article on how the SMB dealers and VARs can converge amicably through "fulfillment partnering" as an option; as well as how the emerging cloud has multi-benefits to consider. Either way, enjoy the read!

by Sand Sinclair, Editor
Our cover article on Steve Jobs, who sparked a revolution in technology, is not intended to be a bio on him but more on what his genius produced and how it changed the way we do business. His “blueprints” are the incentive for future technology endeavors fast underway from both Apple and competitors.

How to fund your business; your MPS program

Many businesses fail not because they lack revenue or profit, but because they lack cash. Growth companies can actually be profitable at the time they go out of business, with failure being an issue of liquidity - not profitability. Broadening your company’s services and programs, such as the investment or start-up costs for establishing a managed print services program to better service your customers as the total provider, need working capital.

Up Close & Personal
Sales 2.0

by Krista Moore
We are often asked by independent dealers what is the differentiator between successful and growing dealers and those that are slow to grow. My first response is always effective sales leadership. It is critical to have someone at the helm, whether they are the business owner or a dedicated sales manager that creates and shares their vision and strategy, while leading, inspiring and developing others to high standards.

Checklist to Selecting a Good Supplies Distributor

In today’s economy, consumers have never been more focused on cost savings and improved service. As a dealer, this can be a challenge as better service can mean higher costs.
