The Award Winning Dealership TGI Office Automation26 May, 2016
As the recipient of imageSource Magazine’s 2016 Perfect Image Award for Outstanding Leadership in Business Transformation, awarded at this year’s ITEX 2016 event, TGI Office Automation is a dealership to be reckoned with. It’s slogan of Thinking Great Ideas is more than just a slogan – it’s the company mantra whose primary goal is to provide customers with ongoing “great ideas” to result in improved document workflow, controlled costs, meeting compliancy requirements and reducing waste.
TGI is a privately owned, comprehensive office technology provider offering innovative solutions from industry leading partners such as Lanier, Toshiba, Lexmark, KIP, Riso and HP. These partnerships enable TGI to provide businesses with both cost effective and reliable devices, software, services and support.
Then to Now
In 1964, one year prior to the invention of the compact disc, TGI Office Automation (then T&G Industries) was born in a brownstone on the then hardscrabble streets of Brooklyn, New York. Two partners set out to earn an honest living with a $500 loan from their grandmother, selling copy paper and office supplies.
From those early, humble beginnings, TGI has grown into one of the most successful business technology providers in the U.S., offering equipment, solutions and services nationwide.
Although the organization has grown in leaps and bounds, “we’ve never lost touch with the old neighborhood. Our state-of-the-art headquarters and cutting-edge technology portal is located less than a mile away from that same humble brownstone constantly reminding us of where we came from. The only difference is; the neighborhood is just a little bigger.”
Over the last 50 years, TGI has matured to become an indispensable business partner by providing its clients with solutions to their most pressing business problems. They have identified through experience that most companies are looking for guidance on issues such as: increasing efficiency, improving security, becoming more profitable, and lowering their company’s environmental impact.
By implementing strategies within TGI’s eight propositions, TGI helps its customers realize a significant, positive impact to their bottom line.
“Our goal for the future is to continue to develop these partnerships with our customers, along with adapting to the latest technology in the market. Many of our strategies have provided us with unprecedented growth and will help in strategizing for long term growth, “says the company.
TGI focuses on truly helping organizations improve their document workflow, ensures their information is secure, provides control over device output, and provides document “on-ramps” to software programs. TGI thinks outside the box and figures out unconventional ways of solving problems. In addition, “we provide a roadmap that organizations can use to successfully navigate the winding roads of a successful print management strategy. “
Green, Print, Save
TGI has developed GPS: Green, Print, Save - to help organizations identify ways to reduce costs, gain control and be more environmentally responsible with their output devices. The shift TGI has made from the position of copier vendor to business partner has been pivotal. Each job is based on using TGI’s experience and insight so that each client can effectively uncover hidden, emerging demands, in order to improve the way they do business. By uncovering these emerging demands “you bring much more to the table than a low-bid; you bring value - and that value is what will help us continue to grow now and in the future.”
As a dealer for multiple manufacturers, TGI is in a unique position. The difference between TGI and its competition are the personalized services they offer. To date, TGI has had the highest revenue year in company history, and was named top dealer nationwide for Lanier and Toshiba.
“We are a very influential partner due to our success and can therefore provide the most competitive value along with undeniable support, all backed by global leaders in the industry. The demand for quality and courteous customer service, prompt technical support, product and parts availability, and speedy product delivery, are just a few of the guaranteed service levels our customers appreciate,” says the company.
TGI serves a number of industries, managing more than 30,000 devices nationally. They attract large corporate clients, several with branches throughout the country, and governmental agencies as well as local, small businesses. TGI has clients with thousands of end users and hundreds of devices managed by its onsite support teams.
TGI maintains a multi-million dollar inventory for parts, supplies and equipment at its 40,000+ square foot warehouse located in Brooklyn, NY, with two 8,000 square foot warehouse facilities in South Florida, and a 20,000 square foot facility in New Jersey. TGI monitors its equipment, accessories, supplies and parts inventory daily, and is constantly restocking to maintain sufficient inventory levels. This process allows them to provide their customers with a constant flow of immediate deliveries.
TGI now has 10 locations: Brooklyn, New York; New York, New York; West Caldwell, New Jersey; Melville, New York; Woodbridge, New Jersey; Red Bank, New Jersey; Cherry Hill, New Jersey; Shelton, Connecticut; Boca Raton, Florida; and Pompano Beach, Florida. For more information visit www.tgioa.com
