CompTIA - Inspired Minds To Connect at ChannelCon in July

1 May, 2013

USA - May 1, 2013 - It used to be either you attended a conference to network and generate leads, or you registered for training to discuss industry hot topics and learn best practices. While both experiences are worthwhile to the growth of your business – you no longer have to choose between the two. CompTIA’s ChannelCon, formerly known as Breakaway, has been re-imagined to emphasize quality meetings, partnership opportunities, hot topic sessions, and channel-neutral training.

The inaugural CompTIA ChannelCon, scheduled for July 29-31 at the Peabody Orlando Hotel in Orlando, Florida, now has a name that truly reflects its scope. The event will bring together the best cross section of IT solution providers, vendors, distributors, media, tech associations, and channel consortiums.

One of the biggest reasons solution providers choose to attend ChannelCon is the broad selection of channel training offerings available on-site. This year attendees will benefit from a mix of quick start, executive certificate and CompTIA Trustmarks sessions.

What Are Quick Start Sessions?
CompTIA Quick Start Sessions are faculty-led presentations that offer participants a simple, how-to approach to starting a new business model or practice. These sessions are based on content from the CompTIA Quick Start Guides. This year ChannelCon attendees can sign up to attend quick start sessions to big data, mobile marketing and tackling cloud security concerns.

What Are Executive Certificates?
CompTIA executive certificates provide busy professionals the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skill sets to target organizational goals and objectives. Each course is intended to help IT solution providers enhance their current businesses with successful niche practices. Solution providers learn best practices and experience opportunities for interacting with and learning from their peers. ChannelCon is offering executive certificate courses in cloud, data recovery and business continuity, IT security, mobility, and optimizing vendor relationships.

What Are Trustmark Credentials?
CompTIA Trustmark credentials improve business practices resulting in competitive differentiation and customer confidence by identifying IT companies that consistently follow best practices for a specific area of expertise. ChannelCon attendees can earn either the MSP Partners Trustmark™ or the Managed Print Trustmark™ on-site at the event – all for $99 (a $199 value).

The typical ChannelCon attendee will find themselves spending some quality time in training sessions supplemented by networking opportunities at the vendor fair, breakfasts, lounge, and even a 5K run.

Dan Wensley, vice president, partner development and marketing at Level Platforms Inc., says the opportunity to interact with other members of the community is one of the great things about attending CompTIA’s annual conference. “The conversations, the interaction, the learning, the understanding, the education, all culminate in not only your own personal development in this industry but also the ability to bring back these materials and information to your company to help them propel.”

Other highlights of the event this year will include the ChannelCon Technology Vendor Fair, the new Unconference Lunch, the ChannelCon Think and Drink Lounge, the new ChannelCon Players Club, the MyChannelCon online conference community and the Offsite Closing Party.

Registration for CompTIA ChannelCon is now open. Register and book your hotel and complimentary shuttle service before June 15 and receive an Amazon gift card – CompTIA's gift to you!  For more info contact http://www.comptia.org
