Connecting at the ECi Connect Conference18 Nov, 2015
Orlando isn't only about Disney, however, while attending the ECi Connect Conference last week at the Disney Coronado Springs Resort, it reminded me of just how easy it is to attend a well-hosted (and well-executed) industry event in a city that embraces hosting them and where attendees look forward to arriving, learning and networking. With this year's conference theme based on "Educate, Collaborate, Inspire," ECi also celebrated "The Everyday Hero" with an inaugural award, whereby the timing couldn't be better in today's frenetic world, including for those hero's in our respective industries.
First, The ECi Connect Conference is an opportunity for all ECi customers, vendors and partners to learn about software and business solutions and to share ideas with other users of these solutions or in the same line of business. For my part, I spotted a busy venue on the days that I attended, while the 3 day event overall garnered nearly 900 attendees, resulting in a healthy user conference indeed which made it easy to "connect."
On the floor were business owners, software users, IT professionals, and three dozen vendors and/or partner who displayed their services/products in the Vendor Expo (includes Ricoh, Sharp, HP, BEI Services, Digitek, GreatAmerica, Essendant, SP RIchards, TriMega, eTactics, and other good companies) that was shared with a well-staffed, multi-desked Tech Lab (sponsored by HON) where ECi staff assisted their users by answering questions, offereing tips and product suggestions, and overall ideas to help them improve processing in order to maximize their business. Sure, there were welcome breakfasts to enjoy and well-attended cocktail parties (gotta love the outdoor evening dining in warm Florida!) but the "meat" was truly the education offered to users/attendees who were eager to partake.
This year, ECi delivered five preconference intensive sessions and 188 advanced software training sessions, along with 23 business sessions to cover all aspects of an enterprise. I personally learned alot in the four sessions that I attended, where each presenter "knew his/her stuff" as an expert in their field would. The variety of topics was incredibly salient and on target for this event. From "hitting the ground running" to engage in use of ECi product, services and/or their partners' (eCommerce at its best) to ramped up sales and operation tactics, including finessing your finance operations, the bottom line. If you wanted to sit in on auditing and contract utility it was there, as was definitive sales metrics and better formulas for your Linked In/social media campaigns. From digital marketing to crucial analystics, or creating "rock star" content for your website, this event had something for everyone and more.
ECi's management and staff can be pleased and proud of their successful Connect event, held in Walt Disney's World of enjoyment. I'm glad I attended and look forward to next year's in Nashville (where I'll imagine the "Grand Ole Opry" instead of Mickey!)
