IP Protection for Purdue University From Software Specialist Core Technologie27 Feb, 2015
The software specialist Core Technologie has gifted to Purdue University’s Department of Computer Graphics Technology their data conversion software “3D Evolution” that will be used in the Product Lifecycle Management Center of Excellence.
To support the academic training and science programs, the software company Core Technologie has provided their innovative data conversion software for Purdue University in Indiana. The so called “3D Evolution” tool provides functions and modules to optimize the process-chain of 3D data and combines data conversion, IP-protection, product data quality as well as FEA geometry. The software suite has been developed in close collaboration with over 400 customers in the automotive, aerospace, general machinery, consumer goods industry as well as universities and research institutes. With interfaces for all major formats like STEP, JT, CATIA, CREO, SolidWorks and NX the toolset can be easily connected with any PLM environment. A unique conversion technology for fully workable models is preserving the construction history and features.
Especially, the IP protection module of the software suite called “Simplifier” is becoming more and more attractive for multi-national companies that collaborate and share CAD models between development partners in the entire value chain around the globe, never knowing where their data might end up. The Simplifier performs a fast and automated generation of virtual envelopes, also called bounding shapes. The process removes all internal construction details and information about the internal shape as well as features and meta-information. By this means unauthorized access to sensitive information and product piracy is efficiently circumvented. Avoiding a leak of this comprehensive information is one of the highest requirements in today’s need for privacy.
Mitchell E. Daniels Jr., President of Purdue University, stated: “The opportunities, programs and equipment we provide, help our students develop skills that turn great scholars into accomplished alumni. Our corporate partners are helping power great things, and we are deeply grateful for how CoreTechnologie’s generosity is moving our university forward”.
David Selliman, Vice President of CoreTechnologie, added: “The continuous evolution of our products is a vital factor in our outstanding success story. It is a long-term strategy to provide our solutions to universities helping us to connect with future generations of engineers around the globe. Therefore, we are delighted to be a partner of Purdue University”.
