Turbon Group Announced It Has Received R2 Certification19 Jun, 2013
New Jersey (June 17, 2013) – Turbon Group announced today that it has received R2:2008 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certification along with the recertification of their ISO 14001:2004, the highest industry standards for responsible recycling, occupational health and safety and environmental stewardship. Currently Turbon is the only collector and remanufacturer of laser toner cartridges to achieve all three of these certifications.
R2 certification, also known as Responsible Recycling Certification, provides verification of Turbon’s environmentally responsible, safe and transparent management of toner cartridges and other consumer electronics.
OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) is intended to help an organization to control occupational health and safety risks. It was developed in response to widespread demand for a recognized standard against which to be certified and assessed and it is widely seen as the world’s most recognized occupational health and safety management systems standard.
ISO 14001 addresses various aspects of environmental management. It provides practical tools for companies and organizations looking to identify and control their environmental impact and constantly improve their environmental performance. R2, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001certification is facility specific and has been awarded to Turbon’s York, Pennsylvania, collections, processing and distribution operation.
“The implementation of R2 and OHSAS 18001 along with the recertification our current ISO 14001 at our York, PA, facility shows the commitment by Turbon not only to the continual improvement of our environmental stewardship but also the importance of the health and safety of our employees ,” said Cassie Gruber, Director of Environmental Compliance. “Turbon is committed to being an industry leader in all aspects of our business and the addition of R2 and OHSAS 18001 should serve as an example for our industry.”
“Turbon’s commitment to our customers and potential customers is that we will handle all of the material that they send to us down to their final disposition and while doing so we will provide our employees with a safe working environment,” stated Al DeLuca, CEO. “Since joining Turbon in March Cassie’s experience and expertise has been an invaluable asset and has provided our team with the leadership and knowledge to successfully execute on these initiatives.”
