1st Quarter Results: Color for overseas market increases

Japan Business Machine and Information System Industries Association (JBMIA)
announced copier shipment results for the first quarter of 2007.  The “world

second quarter of 2005 in the “domestic market.”  Shipment for the growing color
copiers increased for 9.1% but the amount decreased 1.4% from the same quarter
last year, the first time since the second quarter of 2006. For the total
“domestic market,” both the amount and shipment units decreased. The amount
stayed above 100 billion yen per quarter for the last 2 years, but did not reach
that level in this term.

dollars). Top vendors that providers are dealing with are Canon (84 dealers),
Ricoh (58 dealers), Epson (50 dealers) and Konica Minolta (41 dealers).

Regarding the overall future of the office equipment industry, about 60% of
the dealers responded that it is “getting more severe year after year,” though
over fifty percent responded that revenues had increased a little bit for the
last one year; others said it decliined. Regarding the “Copy Charge System”
(CPC), 87.7% of dealers said it was “necessary” or to “keep even with
