Choosing a Compatible Cartridge

Once the decision has been made to offer OEM compatible imaging supplies to
customers, office products dealers are faced with choosing from the thousands of
possible manufacturers on the market. Do you choose a supplier based on
recommendations and word of mouth? Do you choose a manufacturer strictly by the
product prices? Do you look at the number of products offered or the type of
packaging offered? Do you choose based on quality of the products or the
manufacturer's support of the dealer market?

Choosing an imaging supplies manufacturer is not a simple matter. Dealers
should take all of the above factors into consideration when choosing a supplier
for OEM compatible products. The number of manufacturers that actually excel in
every category listed above are far and few between. You should expect the same
from suppliers as your customers expect from you-quality, honesty, and service.

Best Ribbon Corporation has been succeeding in the compatibles market since
1984 with its unique blend of quality products, services and support. What sets
Best Ribbon apart from many other suppliers is their commitment to customer
service and their wide selection of quality products which include not only
laser and inkjet cartridges but compatible thermal transfer, POS, DP and fax
ribbons. Best Ribbon's line of more than 1,000 compatible products for dealers
to choose with saving of up to 40 percent less than OEM prices.

According to Best Ribbon's CEO, "Our BestImage cartridges are completely
rebuilt using 100 percent new parts. The only part of the cartridge we reuse is
the shell and that's only because we have to. If I could buy the shell new, I

It is the process of replacing everything but the shell that distinguishes
Best Ribbon from many competitors. "Many compatible cartridge manufacturers will
leave some parts in and replace others. We have found that greater quality is
achieved when everything is replaced," he continued. "We have a very slim defect
rate for compatible cartridges and our ribbons tout an amazing 1/10th of one
percent defect rate."

Customer service and commitment to the dealer is always something that should be
considered when choosing an imaging supplies manufacturer. Best Ribbon, like
many other manufacturers, ships products within 24 to 48 hours and hopes to soon
offer ordering via the Internet when construction of its new website is
complete. One distinct measure that Best Ribbon offers is its distinctive
customer service policy. "We believe in personal contact. A human being will
always answer the phone within four rings," the CEO said. "Best Ribbon will
personally answer the phone and will be available to assist dealers with
information on products, pricing and shipping."

Finding a product supplier with quality products and pricing, in addition to
customer service and support, is not beyond your expectations. Ask questions,
get referrals from peers and discover a whole new profit generating opportunity
by offering compatible cartridges as part of your product mix.
