ECI²: Powerful Software Making Dealers More Profitable

eCommerce Industries, Inc. (ECI²), it’s all about the dealer. The company’s
Ensite Pro Machines & Equipment Edition is a complete software solution for
companies that sell, lease, or service business machines and equipment. Company

“It’s not a difficult concept,” Pritchard explained. “What company wouldn’t
benefit from lower costs and more time to prospect for customers, service
accounts, or make strategic plans to move their business forward? Ensite Pro
does that by automating processes to improve efficiency. It lets dealers
accomplish more work without more people.”

ECI² is a $30 million company operating in the United States, Canada, the
Caribbean, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. It has approximately 200 employees,
including 60 developers and over 70 training and technical service personnel.

The company’s Ensite Pro software automates all service operations, including
dispatching, service contracts, and machine and parts inventory. It also
streamlines core business functions such as order entry, purchasing, and
accounting, and maintains complete histories of machines, contracts, and
technicians for performance and profitability analysis.

all operational areas without re-keying, reducing administration and labor

“We’re here to eliminate costs for the dealer,” Pritchard explained. “Purchasing
is a perfect example—receiving a purchase order updates inventory and the
machine record without involving the warehouse or service manager. By performing
his normal function, the purchasing agent is cutting labor costs in two key
profit centers.”

At ECI², software development is focused on the twin goals of dealer efficiency
and profitability. Accessory Management and Demo Picker are examples of new
features designed specifically to streamline dealership operations. When a
dealer places a machine on an order, Accessory Management displays all matching

warehouse choose the best machine from available stock, or create a backorder.
Work orders for assembly and delivery are generated automatically for in-stock
machines. Backorders automatically move to purchasing for ordering and

Accessory management also provides fast, simple inquiry on machines and
accessories. Dealers can see what equipment is in stock or at customer sites,
with a complete history for each component. This capability is especially
valuable for dealers selling postage meters or similar equipment.

Demo Picker simplifies the process of building demo machines for customers or an
in-house showroom. The software tracks the components used and flags them as
assigned without removing them from on-hand inventory. It also generates a
reminder at the end of the demo period.

ECI² has also announced SeviceTrak, a new mobile dispatching solution for
machine dealers. The software will enable technicians using PDAs or laptops to
access customer and machine information, close calls, and receive new
assignments while in the field.

Implementation, training, and after-sale support are critical concerns when
purchasing a business system. ECI² offers a wide range of training, consulting,
