Focus On All-in-one Strategy

With Carlyle Singer at the helm as President and CEO, Katun, the leading
global alternative supplier to the office equipment industry, continues to build
on the strong synergy between aftermarket companies and their customers, and
bold expansion of exciting new product offerings and services.

About Katun Corporation

Founded in 1979, and headquartered in Minneapolis, the Corporation is the
world's largest supplier of OEM-compatible imaging supplies, photoreceptors and
parts, as well as a leading manufacturer of fuser rollers and other select
products. With experience to the max (over 27 years) in the channel, they serve
over 19,000 customers worldwide, throughout 170 countries. Talk about impressive
numbers; they have them.

Back in 2002 when investors, who also own PartsNow! (considered the world's
largest distributor of computer printer parts and the largest supplier of HP,
Lexmark, and Canon printer parts) acquired Katun, the dye was cast that the
resultant synchronization would push both to their optimum performance. Though
Katun and Parts Now! are managed separately and organized under a single holding
company, Katun attributes their growth to their distinct ability to evolve with
the marketplace, predicting its trends, then defining successful solutions that
companies can stake their future on. Today, their expanded product portfolio
includes printer toner cartridges, components and select parts for many of
today’s leading workgroup laser printer models, including both monochrome and
color applications, dramatically increasing the breadth of Katun’s printer
products offering. The new workgroup printer products will offer proven, tested
OEM compatibility at significant savings compared to OEM-branded products.
Unique in the OEM-alternative parts and supplies market, Katun operates a 90,000
square foot R & D Testing Facility, enabling the company to apply stringent
tests for quality, yields, compatibility and other important product performance

In addition, they are close to launching PSS (Print Software Solutions) for
office equipment dealers. These solutions allow dealers to more easily manage
the service of printers and MFDs through a highly advanced meter reading, toner
level, and performance monitoring solution. Dealers can use this information to
manage uptime, replenish supplies and perform required maintenance, while
sourcing from Katun’s product portfolio of printer, MFD, and fax parts and
supplies that provide significant cost savings compared to OEM supplies.
Additionally, Katun products provide the same or better yields as the OEM
supplies, and the organization supports these products with top customer
service.  PSS also allows a dealer’s customers to manage total printing costs by
improving print output efficiency; this is accomplished by matching each print
job to the optimal network connected device.

Carlyle Singer recently remarked, “Katun products are designed to meet or
exceed the performance of their OEM equivalents, while being IP-friendly to help
promote the uninterrupted supply of our products.”

Katun’s focus on intellectual property (IP) is a key aspect of its overall
approach to providing quality products and service. Typically, at the initial
stage of product development, efforts are taken to promote IP compliance,
including analysis of competitors’ intellectual property in an effort to prevent
any potential infringement of the rights of other companies.

“Our goal is to offer our customers a ‘one-stop shop’ for OEM-alternative
imaging supplies and parts across a broad range of traditional copier,
multi-function, workgroup printer, and production print applications, and more,”
says Singer. “Our product line expansion is more evidence of our continued
intention to do just that.”
