Maximize Your Time with "All-in-One" Events

What exactly should a business
executive look for when attending or sponsoring a tradeshow or industry business

It’s a simple question that becomes more complex when deciding on the best
options available. After all, when you run a business such as a copier
dealership, you want the most time-efficient, cost-effective means of getting
the most information possible.

Many companies and membership organizations use tradeshows and conventions as an
opportunity to hold their annual meetings for user groups, OEMs, and conferences
for presidents/owners or board members. This allows individuals and companies to
maximize their experiences and time, while stretching their travel dollars.

In addition, many companies take advantage of dealer business forums and
educational classes at these events which help provide opportunities to recruit
new members while in attendance. This can benefit both parties.

Companies such as the Xerox Dealer Council, La Crosse Management Systems, Select
Dealer Group, the BTA, CompTIA, IBPI, AIIM, and OMD take advantage of maximizing
the “all-in-one” show.

By overlapping their meetings with concurrent events such as product exhibits
and educational workshops for up-to-the-minute training in the advances of
document technology, these companies are able to network with others in the
industry. These combined events play a pivotal role in establishing
relationships that are paramount for the utmost in profitability.

Take the ITEX national convention for instance. The annual document technology
event, which will be held March 14-17, 2006 in Las Vegas, is the perfect example
of a show that provides a complete package of opportunities under one roof.

Not only does it offer a dealer business forum, two days of educational classes,
and approximately 200 technology vendors for dealers to explore hundreds of new
business opportunities, but several concurrent events as well. Already, 10
events have been scheduled to run alongside ITEX.

“We have been encouraging our members and others in the channel to attend ITEX
and, at the same time, we have been increasing our exposure there,” explained
Robin Keller, membership and marketing director for the BTA, who added that the
BTA would be celebrating its 80th anniversary with an opened reception at ITEX.

“Our goal with ITEX and other dealer-centric events is to be available to our
members where they are, and we’ve found that more and more of our members are
using ITEX as another avenue for learning about new technologies and
opportunities for their businesses,” Keller added.

Empowering dealers and resellers can be complex. It takes exceptional vendor
products, sales and service training, ongoing education to keep up with the ever
changing climate of the industry, channel partnerships, and a high-level of end
user customer support. And that is just the tip of the iceberg of program
management and technology necessary to ensure a cost-effective, successful

Maximizing your resources and time, especially at industry tradeshows, is really
the dynamic behind optimum efficiency. This efficiency should be a way of life
for the copier dealer community as it continues its endeavor to improve the
quality of document workflow in the workplace.
