New Age Electronics Offers Sharp Ideas for Dealers

in 1988 by Lee Perlman and Adam Carroll, New Age Electronics has branched out
far beyond its name, today touting itself as a channel marketing and supply
chain innovator that provides consumer technology (CT) manufacturers with a
broad offering of logistics, distribution and remanufacturing services. New
Age’s customer-centric approach has made them a provider of choice for
manufacturers such as HP, Panasonic and Sharp, and hundreds of national,
regional, local and online retailers including Big Lots, Aaron’s, Staples.com,
and Nebraska Furniture Mart.

Headquartered in Carson, CA, New Age conveniently offers everything from
cables to cameras, projectors to printers, and toner cartridges to
computers/accessories to retailers and dealers throughout the USA, shipped from
its warehouses in Ohio,Florida and Mexico. Company sales are expected to exceed
$900 million in 2006.

Known as the "Get it done" guys, Perlman and Carroll pride themselves on
their ability to recognize market opportunities, combining logistics with
distribution and services. "Our customer-centric approach allows both
manufacturers and dealers to offer the best in both service and support," said
Perlman. "That’s our prime motivator and secret to success."

A Sharp Way to Build Business

the most well established relationship has been with Sharp Electronics. Since
1989, New Age and Sharp have worked together to expand offerings from home
office products into Segment 1 and 2 machines, MFPs and supplies.

"A typical dealer carries one or two lines and looks to a distributor to
round out their offerings on an as-needed basis," said Perlman who saw
opportunity in expanding New Age’s dealer offerings. "We have always believed
very strongly in the quality of Sharp’s products and wanted to offer our dealers
the chance to garner even more market share through the sale of Sharp’s

After carefully planning its strategies, New Age was ready to expand its
dealer offerings and this year became the first copier distributor, and one of
only four companies chosen as a Sharp Certified Channel Reseller Program
provider for Sharp’s line of segment 2 and 3 machines.

"As a Master Distributor we are the only partner authorized to sell
nationally to both authorized and non-authorized Sharp Dealers," claims Perlman.
New Age has a dedicated staff whose job is to sell, service and train dealers on
Sharp’s largest segment peripherals. "We will be proactive in our approach to
offering Sharp’s products and certifications," said Perlman, adding that a
full-time sales rep will seek out candidates to become authorized Sharp dealers.
"Once we find a qualified candidate for certification and they’re approved by
Sharp, we’ll begin the training process."

"We are working with Sharp and an internal Sharp Authorized Technician, so
the courses will still have Sharp’s look and feel but with New Age’s
customer-centric focus."

"We’re 100 percent committed to providing our dealer clients with everything
they need to succeed," Perlman added. "We have the products, the services, the
programs, and now the training."

Dealers interested in becoming a Sharp Authorized Reseller can contact New
Age Electronics at 888-234-0300 or 310-549-0000, ext. 306.
