Q-Imaging: A Cartridge Alternative
The Q-Imaging dealer concept was founded in Austin, Texas by GCC
International, Ltd. when it became apparent that there was a need for an
alternative to highly priced OEM printer consumables and other
remanufactured/recycled imaging products. The general growing demand for an
alternative source of brand new toner cartridges resulted in the GCC Group
pioneering the independent design and manufacture of 100 percent brand new laser
printer, color printer, personal copier and fax machine cartridges. GCC became
the first group in the world to introduce competition into the 100 percent brand
new cartridge market.
GCC was founded in 1991 on a small industrial estate in Hong Kong and
relocated in 1995 to its current 200,000 square foot manufacturing facility in
southern China. Now, with over 700 employees, an extensive engineering and
design facility, and sales and distribution offices worldwide, they occupy a
leading position in the xerographic imaging supplies industry.
Q-Imaging products are much more than just compatible. Q-Imaging took
compatibility as a base and incorporated longer life with lower printing costs
into the design equation. The development cycle includes function analysis,
intellectual property rights investigation, redesign, component design and
production engineering. Before releasing any new cartridge model, engineers
thoroughly qualify cartridges through extensive field and life testing in both
their factory and also through independent laboratories to ensure that
cartridges meet Q-Imaging’s rigorous quality standards. Extensive experience and
continuous interaction with customers has enabled Q-Imaging to develop a
thorough understanding of the imaging machines market. Every year they design
new cartridge models to fit the most popular printers, copiers and fax machines,
and their highly skilled and innovative engineering department is dedicated to
developing each new cartridge model the OEM’s release onto the market.
All the components utilized in a Q-Imaging cartridge are either manufactured
from Q-Imaging’s own purposely-designed tools and moulds or are manufactured to
their demanding specifications. After the Quality Control Department tests and
approves components, they are assembled into new toner cartridges at Q-Imaging’s
ISO9001/ 9002 certified by Lloyds of London factory.
Q-Imaging understands the importance of product reliability. Before leaving
the factory, each individual cartridge is print tested for resolution, black
level, consistency, point defects, fine-line variations and color saturation.
Having perfected a multi-stage Quality Assurance Program to ensure that rigorous
standards are maintained, Q-Imaging offers an unconditional guarantee. If a user
is not satisfied with the quality or performance of a new Q-Imaging cartridge,
Q-Imaging will replace that cartridge or give the user their money back.
Q-Imaging products are not only engineered with unique features that enhance
performance, they are also dedicated to helping reduce the amount of waste being
generated by the needless disposal of cartridges. Each cartridge is purposely
designed to be re-manufactured and, in support of this, Q-Imaging carries a full
range of repair parts for all of their products.
While Q-Imaging’s biggest customers include OEMs, brand name distributors,
office equipment wholesalers, major retail chains, and mail order catalogues,
Q-Imaging also supplies small distributors and dealers directly with their brand
of products. All of their customers appreciate the lower-costs and
higher-margins, quality and guaranteed reliability of their cartridges. The
majority of Q-Imaging’s customers are located in Europe and the USA, but they
also have customers in more than 30 other countries. In order to be able to
supply customers in a timely manner, Q-Imaging maintains a full product
inventory in their warehouses in Europe, America, South Africa, Australia and
Asia. This ensures immediate product availability from big shipments to small
Q-Imaging's goal is to provide customers with the most reliable and cost
effective laser printer, inkjet printer, copier and fax machine cartridges
available on the market. To accomplish this, Q-Imaging works hard to
continuously develop technological leadership, maintain the highest standards of
quality, and focus on developing a full range of new monochrome and color
cartridges. If a customer requires sales support, the Q-Imaging staff will work
closely with them to meet their specific needs. Q-Imaging can design and
recommend marketing tools such as promotional flyers, adverts, brochures,
catalogues, counter and standup display racking and CD-ROMs. They can also train
a sales force in the technical and commercial aspects of our new product range.
The highly competitive nature of the supplies business has forced dealers and
retailers to accept progressively lower and lower margins. Q-Imaging’s brand new
cartridges provide the solution to this problem by offering customers more value
at a lower cost. Customers no longer have to be tied into the supplies offered
by printer, copier and fax manufacturers. For the first time, dealers have a
choice and so do their customers.
