Shaping the future of the M2M Space: MWAi & ECI2 Partner to Enhance Services

Even with all of the recent agreements, mergers and acquisitions spreading
across our industry, many companies are still asking, when will one of these
“critical news flashes” really make a difference in this market space? As
businesses continue to come and go, and solutions evolve and improve, when will
an impact truly be felt at the end-user level? Will we reach a point when all of
these hardware, software and professional services actually deliver the ability
to heighten workers’ performance, streamline operations and increase

Finally, the answer is, yes.

A significant milestone has arrived on the heels of an agreement between MWA
Intelligence (MWAi) and eCommerce Industries (ECI2), which gives MWAi the rights
to two of ECI2’s wireless service applications. The deal includes the transfer
of ownership to MWAi a host of valuable intellectual property such as OMD
Corporation’s Service-On-The-Go and LaCrosse Management Systems’ Tech Raptor

You’re probably asking, now what? But before we look at the future, let’s
quickly examine where these two companies have been.

MWAi has long been a leader in remote asset management tools and mobile
workforce automation systems and services, and ECI2 has been a powerhouse in the
ERP/CRM solutions space. Now, however, the key for each of these companies — as
well as for all of us — is to secure its industry-leading M2M role by clearly
refining their respective focus and differentiating themselves in a more
well-defined piece of the market.

In the best interest of parties involved, including the end user, both
companies will drive all of their resources into their core competencies.
Meaning, ECI2 will work on bolstering its ERP/CRM solutions and MWAi will put
its energy into service automation and remote asset management solutions. For
the first time ever, customers will have equally strong front and back-end
solutions that drive their businesses to new heights. And, moving forward, these
same customers will have two powerful companies working diligently on their
behalf to ensure that the technology and services they will need do keep pace
with their changing day-to-day needs and objectives.

In a recent interview with Michael T. Stramaglio, CEO and President of MWA
Intelligence, Inc., he commented that “this strategic move is just one of the
latest steps MWAi has taken to deliver office equipment dealers and their
customers the products and services required to be both productive and
profitable in a growingly complex digital business world.”

Undoubtedly, MWAi is marching down a path to be the most formidable M2M
provider in the industry and ECI2 will continue to develop and market
sophisticated back-end applications. The question is, how will this agreement
support these critical initiatives?

Don Weary, CEO Office Technology Division, ECI2, describes the relationship
as follows: “We’ve created a very powerful partnership that will involve sharing
engineering expertise, R&D resources and technical prowess. The end result will
be real-time systems integration, advanced marketing capabilities, feature-rich
applications and world-class service supporting the best-of-the-best solutions
from each company.”

While ECI2 will continue to sharpen its focus on core business activities
such as providing superior back-end ERP/CRM solutions, MWAi will utilize the
agreement to achieve its goal of providing the best M2M systems and services for
the office equipment industry. Now, along with almost two decades of
market-specific experience, MWAi holds a tremendous competitive advantage in its
ever-expanding line-up of systems, software and service capabilities and will
continue to grow and strengthen its current partner portfolio.

“Our work with ECI2 demonstrates the significant benefits that can be born
from strong partnerships…that of value-added solutions for our marketplace built
on the strengths and expertise of each company,” continued Stramaglio. “Best of
all, the office equipment dealers will have the opportunity to acquire more
refined and more powerful solutions, as well as world-class support from both
our organizations moving forward.”

This agreement is monumental in that many clients of the M2M space are
finally getting what they’ve been waiting for. MWAi and ECI2 have done what’s
best for themselves as well as their customers. They understand that the
complexity of today’s digital business world demands specific, focused
solutions–not one size fits all. And, with this agreement in place and marching
orders clearly defined, MWAi and ECI2 are poised to lead providers through the
maze of machine-to-machine solutions today, tomorrow and beyond.
