iS: What differentiates LMI from the other competitors
in the Print Management space?
LMI (gw): That’s an excellent question! LMI has had
more experience in this space than any of our competitors. We came out with our
first program in 2004 (Ref. Oct. issue 2005, imageSource). Since then our
program has grown to servicing more than 500 dealers. (RL) Our customers would
probably say it’s the LMI people who are directly responsible for the benchmark
quality products and service we deliver on a day to day basis.
At LMI, we’ve carefully selected a team of people that have sold managed
print service and who can relate to the real world challenges a dealer
faces–because we understand their world. We genuinely want to help our dealers
grow their business. We have a core philosophy that if our customers win, we
iS: I heard a lot about your Print Management Program. what are your
secrets for success?
LMI (gw/rl): Our success has come from our exclusive LMI PageTrac
Advantage. We offer a field proven turnkey MPS system now used by top performing
dealers throughout North America. The LMI PageTrac Advantage offers dealers a
“one stop” solution that includes technology, training, imaging consumables,
sales support, custom packaging, and a fulfillment system second to none.
iS: Being a cartridge remanufacturer is your core business. have you
found this has helped or hindered your efforts?
LMI (gw): There is no question that our core business has helped us
immensely. In the MPS business, success hinges on your ability to deliver the
dealers’ customers a top quality cartridge in a very efficient manner.
So yes, core competencies at LMI have allowed us to perfect our cartridge
technology which is the cornerstone of our LMI PageTrac Advantage system. We
actually have high performance cartridges engineered specifically to drive more
dealer profits with our MPS program.
iS: Is MPS a fad for this industry or is it a long term selling
LMI (rl): We believe that Managed Print is not a fad and we have
invested accordingly. As the economy continues to tighten, more and more
companies will look to reduce operating expenses and outsource more services. So
MPS is positioned to immediately reign in their uncontrolled printing expenses
and relieve IT from the headaches associated with network printing.
iS: LMI and DigiTAL GATEWAY recently formed a partnership. tell me
more about that.
(gw/rl): We’re very excited to have recently partnered with Digital Gateway
to integrate our services into e-automate. We are a part of Digital Gateway’s
e-Managed Print Success program that brings together all the training, services
and technology a dealer needs to be successful in managed print.
the thousand dealers using e-automate can automatically load LMI’s pricing for
their wide selection of toner compatibles and maintenance kits in real-time
during the sales quote and contract generation process. This takes the guesswork
out of determining accurate future total cost of ownership.
As an added benefit, e-automate users are given preferred pricing that will
help them be more competitive and capture more revenue in managed print.
We have also integrated our PageTrac Advantage service which
allows e-automate users to automatically access detailed printer information
like meters, serial numbers, device descriptions, locations, error codes,
consumable levels and more.
