AEG Announces Further Expansion of its China Manufacturing Facility
Warstein-Belecke, Germany - AEG Elektrofotografie GmbH, a Hologic company, announced further expansion in their state-of-the-art photoreceptor manufacturing facility in Shanghai China. The facility originally opened in March 2005. The factory focuses primarily on production of the OPC printer drums and because of the unique and flexible design of the AEG built proprietary production equipment, other OPC drum types and designs can easily be added in the future. A new production line was added for substantially increased production capacity and additional space is available for further expansions.
The USA OPC manufacturing facility located in Hamilton, Ohio ceased production operations earlier this year. The AEG North American Sales and Distribution Center will continue to be staffed and supported with local sales, technical, and administrative staff in Ohio along with onsite inventory to accommodate all North American customer requirements. AEG will continue to provide the same excellent service and support as in the past.
“We will continue to support our customers' needs for OPC printer drums and other products by sourcing volume quantities from our production sites in Europe and Asia," said Manfred Wagner, Managing Director. "While the Ohio plant has been a mainstay to our business for a number of years, changes in global competition and in the US marketplace necessitate this global change. This action has allowed AEG to stay cost competitive in OPC manufacturing while also allowing us to remain a major participant in the worldwide markets, with growing market share,” Wagner said.
