Asia Expo Earns Reputation for Success
The first-ever industry trade show in Asia, Asia Expo 2004, claimed overwhelming success with 150 exhibitors and more than 3,500 visitors from around the world. This annual international event will continue to provide the platform for industry members to exchange information, technologies, products and services, and to explore growth opportunities throughout China and the rest of Asia.
“Our registration service provider registered more than 2,670 industry visitors. In addition, there were more than 900 industry invited guests,” said Lisa Guo, who manages the U.S. office for the organizers of the event. The preliminary attendance figures earn Asia Expo a reputation of being one of our industry’s most successful international trade shows.
The exhibit was held at the prestigious Shanghai Exhibition Center, located in the downtown area of Shanghai, Oct. 28 -30, 2004. Attendees experienced more than 89,000 square feet of exhibition space filled by the 150 companies that were exhibiting. One attendee commented he enjoyed seeing such “a nice mix of finished goods, components, ink/toner suppliers, empties, and other companies.”
“The show was a tremendous success. The organizers could not have hoped for a better quantity in terms of exhibitors and attendance, or better quality,” stated Phyllis Gurgevich, publisher of Recharger Magazine, the media sponsor for the event.
A front-runner session, Global Remanufacturing Forum: Asia, was held the Wednesday before the expo. The day-long session was sponsored and hosted by Recharger Magazine and featured a keynote address from Print Rite’s Arnald Ho. More than 100 industry participants listened to five presentations addressing the global state of the industry and specific challenges throughout Asia and Mainland China. The session concluded with a panel of global business experts, and the day ended with dinner and entertainment on the Shanghai Scenery cruise boat.
Many exhibitors who attended Asia Expo 2004 have already reserved their exhibition booths for Asia Expo 2005, which will be held at the same venue Dec. 8 - 10, 2005. Most exhibitors are reserving larger space for next year’s event. All the booths in the central hall have been sold out.
