Bay Copy CEO Selected for National Lexmark Focus Group
Rockland, MA (Feb. 2009) -Ray Belanger, CEO of Rockland-based Bay Copy, was one of a few dealers chosen nationally to participate in a focus group sponsored by Lexmark International (NYSE:LXK), where he and 6 other Lexmark dealers provided feedback on industry trends and changes.
The event was sponsored by Lexmark International, first founded in 1991 as a spin-off of IBM and with revenues of $5 billion annually, worldwide. Bay Copy was recently named a Lexmark Business Solutions Dealer, making the company part of an elite group of less than 100 dealers in the United States and the only Business Solutions Dealer in Massachusetts to qualify.
Belanger said that this is an expanded Lexmark initiative to reach out to the mid-sized business market. The Focus Group was held in Dallas, TX. “This shows Lexmark’s desire to reach out to the smaller and mid-sized businesses as they expand their market. It was an interesting experience to share views and thoughts with other Lexmark dealers, and I believe we provided valued insight to Lexmark."
The program that Bay Copy has joined enables the Rockland firm to sell and service an extensive array of office products for business use. There are specific products designed for this program that include MFPs (Multi Function Printers), in addition to the full traditional Lexmark printer product line.
Of his becoming a dealer, Belanger noted, “This will help us reach into new markets that are eager for higher levels of support then they are accustomed to,” adding, “We have been very impressed with the level of support that we have received from Lexmark as we partner with them in this Massachusetts effort.” Belanger noted that Lexmark has a local support center in Waltham. He noted, “This is a key part of their company’s expansion into new markets, both geographically and by vertical markets, and they are committed to making a difference. We are looking forward to working with them.”
