BTA ‘FIX: Cost Management for Service Workshop’ Scheduled


Kansas City, MO (November, 2008) - On Dec. 12-13 in Henderson, NV (adjacent to Las Vegas), the Business Technology Association (BTA) will host its “FIX: Cost Management for Service Workshop.” The workshop is designed for office technology dealership owners, service managers, controllers and office managers seeking to improve their service management skills and customer service strategies.

This highly interactive, energetic classroom experience will be led by instructor Ronelle Ingram, vice president of technical service for Steven Enterprises Inc., Irvine, Calif. Ingram is current national president of BTA and a contributing writer to various industry publications. She is also the author of the book, “Service with a Smile.” Ingram has served as instructor for the FIX Workshop since 1985.

FIX Workshop attendees will learn to: determine the actual costs of a service hour, maintenance agreements and vehicle operations; establish a profitable “markup method” pricing for service and maintenance agreement inspections and overtime; and compute cost-per-copy and overhead rates. Attendees will also learn how to better manage their staff operations with profit-making opportunities, improved teamwork and proven customer relations program. All attendees will take home a workshop manual for reference, sample maintenance agreements, service department worksheets and action plan templates, and cost/price spreadsheet templates (Excel) with formulas.
