BTA to Host Upcoming District Events
Providing office technology dealers with education and networking opportunities, the Business Technology Association (BTA) has two “Educating U” district events scheduled for September. On Sept. 11-12, the BTA East District will host “Connect, Compare, Compete: An Executive Summit” in White Plains, N.Y. The following weekend, on Sept. 19-20, 2008, the BTA West District will host “Fast Track to Recession-Proofing Your Business” in Cypress, Calif. The General Registration for each event is $159.
The BTA East event will take place at the Ritz Carlton Westchester. The agenda includes education sessions, sponsor exhibits, an opening cocktail reception and an evening at Yankee Stadium watching the Yankees take on the Tampa Bay Rays (the number of available tickets remaining is limited).
The education sessions and speakers include: “Why is Everybody Always Picking on Me?” with Bob Goldberg, BTA general counsel; “Growing Market Share and Profits” with Tom Callinan of Strategy Development; “Moving From Boxes to Solutions” with Jon Reardon and Randy Dazo of InfoTrends; “Shifting Service From Reactive to Proactive” with Jack Duncan of Jack Duncan Consulting; and “The Case for Page-Based Compensation” with Lou Slawetsky and Ruth Ann Kordell of Industry Analysts Inc.
Sponsors for the BTA East event: DocuWare, FMAudit, Greater Bay Capital, Image Star, Kodak, SYNNEX and Toshiba.
The BTA West event will take place at the Courtyard Cypress Anaheim/Orange County, with portions of the education taking place at nearby MWB Business Systems. The agenda includes education sessions, sponsor exhibits, an opening cocktail reception and an evening at the Los Alamitos Race Course. Following dinner at the historic Vessels Club, attendees will enjoy quarter horse racing from reserved seats on the Finish Line Terrace.
General Registration education sessions and speakers include: “Dissecting the OEM vs. Compatibles Market” with Tricia Judge of the International Imaging Technology Council; “How to Maximize Your Leasing Profitability” & “The Genesis of PrinteGration” with Brenda Merrill of MWB Business Systems; and “Why is Everybody Always Picking on Me?” with Bob Goldberg, BTA general counsel. There will also be an open forum on the complexities of document imaging.
In addition, dealers may attend “Maximizing Your Inside Sales Profitability” on Sept. 20 with Ann Barr of SellingSupplies.com. This workshop consists of a full day of motivational sales training and interactive role-playing exercises designed to increase the effectiveness of imaging supply sales representatives for the purpose of generating additional revenues and profits. An additional registration fee applies.
Sponsors for the BTA West event: AIMED, ENX Magazine, ESP (Electronic Systems Protection), Greater Bay Capital, Image Star, ITC, Lexmark, MWA Intelligence, Paramount Imaging and Toshiba.
As an added bonus, prior to the BTA East event, the association will offer the “BTA Print Management Workshop” Sept. 10-11 in nearby Tarrytown, N.Y. The one-and-half-day workshop offers dealerships the tools they need to establish a print management strategy. Attendees of the workshop will be able to attend the Sept. 11-12 BTA East event at no additional charge.
Likewise, prior to the BTA West event, the association will offer BTA ProSolutions Sept. 18-19 in Cypress. The one-and-half-day workshop is designed to help dealerships better succeed in selling software-based solutions. Attendees to the workshop will be able to attend the Sept. 19-20 BTA West event at no additional charge.
“BTA is dedicated to providing education and information to ensure that the BTA Channel remains the strongest channel of distribution in the office technology industry,” said BTA Executive Director Brent Hoskins. “I encourage dealers to attend one of these two BTA district events as the association provides yet another opportunity to help further strengthen dealerships for their ongoing success.”
