Canon USA and Equitrac Announce Availability of MEAP for Equitrac Offerings
Lake Success, NY and Plantation, FL (February 12, 2008) – Canon U.S.A., Inc.and Equitrac Corporation have announced that Equitrac’s support for Canon’s advanced MEAP based imageRUNNER line of multifunction printers (MFPs) has been extended to Equitrac Office, Equitrac Express, and Equitrac Professional offerings.
Representing a new generation of embedded solutions, Equitrac Office for the enterprise and general office environment, and Equitrac Enterprise for the education market, now take advantage of the Canon Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform (MEAP). Integration of the Equitrac solutions with Canon imageRUNNER MFPs that use Canon’s proprietary MEAP technology help maximize cost management and help promote responsible print practices through direct front-panel access to Equitrac’s industry-leading print, copy, scan and fax tracking capabilities, including Follow-You Printing and Secure Document Release.
The new front-panel implementation of Equitrac’s popular print management software on Canon MEAP enabled imageRUNNER devices lets any walk-up user easily capture color and other detailed document attributes through a familiar touch-screen user interface and QWERTY keyboard on the Canon front panel. Users can then identify and review all job details for prints, copies, scans or faxes prior to output, in a simplified and integrated user experience.
Equitrac Office integrates seamlessly in an organization's existing print server architecture, helping enterprises make informed decisions about designing and deploying network printers to increase their manageability stimulate cost-savings and boost efficiency.
Equitrac Express provides schools and universities with print tracking and accounting capabilities for quota-system management of print and copy devices, while advanced campus-card technology eliminates free printing, provides central control and management of computer labs and integrates Pay-for-Print systems linked to the campus card system.
