CompTIA Breakaway Goes to Washington as the Premier Education Event for the IT Channel
Downers Grove, IL - June 14, 2011 – CompTIA, the non-profit association for the information technology (IT) industry, announced today that registration is now open for its annual Breakaway conference, the premier education event for companies doing business in the IT channel.
More than 1,100 IT channel leaders – including some 350 solution providers – are expected at Breakaway 2011, which for the first time will be held in Washington, D.C. The conference is scheduled for August 1-4 at the Washington Hilton.
"Breakaway offers a channel-neutral setting where IT industry leaders come together to learn, partner and accelerate their business,” said Kelly Ricker, vice president, education and events, CompTIA.
Registration for Breakaway is free for CompTIA members and just $250 for non-members. imageSource Magazine subscribers can register at no cost using code: BK11image.
“The hallmarks of Breakaway are the rich, educational programs and the abundance of networking opportunities among industry peers and partners,” Ricker noted. “Our 2011 program will focus on the business, financial and operational strategies that companies can use to create an environment for profitable and sustainable growth."
New to the Breakaway education program in 2011 is the CompTIA Channel Training Workshops series. These instructor-led sessions will help IT solution providers evolve current business models into successful practices geared specifically to take advantage of new opportunities in markets and technologies, including cloud computing, healthcare IT and unified communications.
Also added to this year’s conference program are CompTIA Quick Start Sessions, 45- to 60-minute instructor-led programs that provide an overview and beginning steps for launching a new business model, practice or service offering. Breakaway has a specific quick start session on the Managed Print Services market, as well as one on the managed IT services market.
Additional channel training at Breakaway 2011 includes the CompTIA Security Trustmark pre-exam workshop, peer-to-peer discussions and panel discussions featuring industry thought-leaders.
