Depot America Partners with Cell Phones for Soldiers
FARMINGDALE, NJ--Depot America, an industry leader in the remanufacture and resale of quality printer parts, is now an official drop-off location for Cell Phones for Soldiers.
After reading a story about a soldier who ran up a large phone bill calling home from Iraq, Cell Phones for Soldiers was created by a teenage brother and sister team from Norwell, MA, with one goal in mind; to provide every US soldier with a way to call home for free.
Old cell phones are collected at official drop off locations, such as Depot America, then they are recycled and the proceeds are used to buy prepaid calling cards for our soldiers serving in the Middle East.
"Depot America is very excited to be involved with such a great organization. As a remanufacturer we understand the value that even something as small as a cell phone has," say Joe Costa, President, Depot America. "It's a great thing to see a program like this do the double duty of recycling and supporting our troops," adds Costa.
"We're asking Americans to make a small sacrifice of support by donating their out of commission cell phones and helping to provide families with a much needed connection to their loved ones overseas," says Brittany Bergquist, Cell Phones for Soldiers co-founder.
