Digital Gateway Partners with the Pros Elite Group


Provo UT (May 2011) - Digital Gateway and the Pros Elite Group has formed the ultimate strategic partnership to support independent dealers using the e-automate Dealership Management System with the information and the tactics required to deliver Elite service results.   Jim  Phillips , the CEO of Digital Gateway and Jerry Newberry the founder and Managing partner of the Pros Elite group announced this alliance at the first best practices roundtable of the Pros Elite 100 Presidents in Sarasota, Florida.

Mr.  Phillips stated that “the Pros Elite Group and Digital Gateway have one common mission and that is to provide the Independent Office Products dealers with the information and the execution skills to allow them to compete and win in the market.” Steve Rolla, a Senior Partner of the Pros Elite group stated that “this partnership gives the dealer network a powerful new alliance they can rely on to update them on the latest benchmark changes and the tactics required to reach them through Pros Elite Group’s years of industry expertise combined with e-automate’s ability to provide effortless, laser-focused extraction of key data points and a powerful reporting platform that delivers the information relating to the benchmarks.”

Jim Phillips became intrigued by the rapid growth of the Pros Elite 100, a dealer organization that the Pros Elite Group partners Jerry Newberry, Jeff Kelly and Steve Rolla began building in January of 2010.  By January of 2011 almost 50 dealers were selected to this Elite organization and almost all of them were e-automate users. The synergies were just hanging there to be picked so Jim Phillips reached out to the Pros Elite Group to see if the feeling was mutual.  The Pros Elite Group enthusiastically agreed to meet with Jim and his team. The result is that e-automate will begin to report on the Elite performance indicators that are critical to a dealers ability to strengthen margins and operational efficiencies.

The PROS group has worked closely with the Digital Gateway team to develop a customized Elite reporting package that provides capabilities that are “Industry First”. These reports are tailored to evaluate and identify common issues that are consistent in the dealers the Pros team visits.

“We always want to be comparing Apples to Apples when we work with a client”, said Jeff Kelly, a Senior Partner of the Pros Elite Group. “These enhancements to e-automate will insure that all dealers will have access to the information that is necessary to achieve benchmark performance.   Our Elite 100 customers will have the best of both worlds with a more robust e-automate system combined with our new proprietary PIVOT software.  PIVOT (performance improvement virtual operations tool) is the industry’s first execution based application which will not only analyze dealer’s results but provide specific actions to execute in order to improve dealers opportunity areas within all facets of the business. 

Digital Gateway has embraced the Pros Elite Group performance and financial benchmarks and wants to provide the Pros Elite Dealers with the ability to measure themselves to the Pros key operational and financial benchmarks in service. No ERP has addressed this need within the dealer community and e-automate has created the standard in this area.

“This new partnership has so many potential facets to dealer improvement” said Steve Rolla.  “My primary focus is to the Pros Elite 100 dealer group however, I spend a significant amount of time supporting dealers who are not part of the Pros Elite 100 group.  As a former President and CEO of three different dealerships in the United States, I have had the benefit of tremendous training programs to guide and develop me as an Executive. The average Independent Dealer Principal does not have the resources at his or her disposal to understand the detailed operational questions they should be asking their direct reports regarding execution to Sales, Service, Administrative, Financial, and I.T. benchmarks.  We mentioned to Jim Phillips that we were working on putting together an “Independent Dealer Executive Academy” (IDEA) for Dealer Principals. This training program is focused on providing the framework to understand the proper execution skills to achieve the critical Financial and Operational benchmarks in all of the functional areas of the Dealer’s Business (sales, service, operations and IT).  To say Jim was enthusiastic about the idea of educating Presidents, and General Managers, and other Dealership Executive team members was an understatement.

However, with the IDEA training, every Dealer Principal can receive the training necessary to identify their critical areas of focus with sales, service and operations. As well as understand the techniques they need to successfully execute in order to maximize the performance and financial results of their dealership.
