DocuWare 5 More Secure than Ever

Newburgh, NY –  DocuWare Corporation, a leader in the integrated document management industry, released its latest white paper on document security. The white paper describes the various enhancements that the security features have added to the DocuWare 5.x product.

“Docuware 5 provides enhanced security functionality,” said Greg Schloemer, President of DocuWare Corporation. “Our white paper is another tool that enables the Partner to validate these important features to their customers.”

A few examples of the many enhancements are: the administrator is able to define functional rights to users, which allow specific access to menu functions inside the DocuWare program. In addition, the administrator can define access to specific file cabinets, and allow or deny Read/Write rights to specific users. For example, a HR manager receives Read/Write access to employee documents, but the employees would only receive Read only access to his own documents. The system can also be set to encrypt documents (whenever DocuWare is set) in High Security mode, passwords can only be reset by the individual users themselves, not the administrators.

Another enhancement is that all data is automatically encrypted when sending or receiving it from a server. Communication is based on Windows or SSL-Security. Only the person with system administrator rights can set how the server client communicates; therefore, he is the only one that can change it to a secure or non-secure communication setting.
