ECI² to Develop Next-Generation Web Storefront

eCommerce Industries Inc. (ECI²), a provider of industry-specific information technology solutions, has announced plans for a next-generation Web storefront application. The development project, code-named Cozumel, is already underway, with the initial release of software scheduled for June 2006.

The Cozumel Web storefront will be an entirely new e-commerce application, incorporating Microsoft’s latest SQL Server database architecture and the Microsoft .NET programming framework. It will provide dealers with an all-new user interface, new search capabilities, new self-service tools for their customers, and other advanced features. The new Web storefront will also include widely-used features currently available in ECI²’s Dealer Station® product while offering more robust integration with ECI² business systems.

“The ECI² dealer community has been the driving force behind this project,” said ECI² Senior Vice President Ron Books, who is managing the development project. “We worked closely with our dealer advisory council and e-commerce users to determine the features and functionality they need to maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace. After listening to their feedback, we decided that the best way to deliver these features was by developing an entirely new e-commerce platform utilizing leading-edge technology and development tools.

“This is one of the most ambitious development projects ECI² has undertaken,” Books continued. “Our goal is to produce the best e-commerce system ever developed for the independent dealer.”
