ECi Releases ECinteractive V9 Web Storefront


Fort Worth, TX (May 18, 2009) – ECi Software Solutions, a leader in industry-specific information technology solutions, has released a new version of ECinteractive, its next-generation Web storefront/Internet customer service application. The new release, version 9.0.0, adds a number of enhancements, including guest user checkout, simplified account creation and support for JumpTech barcode scanners.

With this new release, dealers can allow casual and first-time visitors to visit their site and make purchases without having to register for an account. The Guest Account option requires credit card payment and uses the customer’s e-mail address for order verification and access to order history. ECinteractive also offers new options for handling site visitors who choose to open an account. Dealers can offer visitors the option of immediately setting up an account in ECinteractive (for online purchases only), setting up accounts in ECinteractive and the dealer’s ECi business system (for both online and brick-and-mortar purchases), or give visitors a choice between the two options.

ECinteractive version 9.0.0 also supports Jump Technologies, Inc. (www.jumptech.com) inventory management system. Dealers can provide their customers with barcode-enhanced catalogs (full-line or contract) or barcode labels for supply cabinet shelves or printing consummables. Customers scan the barcodes of products they want to replenish using a JumpCart barcode reader, then plug the reader into the USB port of their PC. The JumpTech software connects to the dealer’s site, logs in to the customer’s account and automatically uploads the required items into their shopping cart for review and checkout.

Other enhancements include new options for scheduling system maintenance, the ability to search order history by invoice number, and view-only option for budget information. This last option supports end-users whose purchasing authority allows them to see, but not edit, budget information.

ECinteractive is a state-of-the-art e-commerce platform that provides dealers with a robust Internet presence, including Web-based ordering and an online customer service center. The software is fully integrated with ECi’s DDMS and COPAS business systems for office products dealers.
