EDM Solutions Introduces First Automated Stuffing and Filling Machine

EDM Solutions, Inc., unveiled their revolutionary Automated Stuffing and Filling Machine for remanufacturing 51625 and 51649 cartridges.

“Until now, refilling 51625 and 51649 cartridges has been overly time consuming, labor intensive and fraught with quality challenges,” says John Hensel, Director of Research and Development for EDM Solutions, Inc. “In a manual system, where the foam is loaded using tongs or other inefficient and imprecise tools, the foam frequently folds over, resulting in a remanufactured cartridge with a tendency to lose prime and prematurely fail. By using an air driven, rotary indexing platform, the Automated Stuffing and Filling machine accurately places each piece of foam within the cartridge cavity and subsequently precision fills each color.”

Mr. Hensel adds that, “The equipment can’t help but save the high volume manufacturer time and money. A tray of 63 cartridges can now be stuffed and filled in ten minutes, instead of the old hour and a half by hand! Production output is increased, labor costs are driven down and processes remain consistent, allowing for improved quality control. Saving our customers money and helping to improve their product quality is what EDM is all about.”

Every Automated Stuffing and Filling Machine is built in the United Stated under the watchful eye of Mr. Hensel using high-grade industrial components to ensure the equipment’s reliability during high volume production runs.
