Embedded Cost Recovery Now Available for eCopy ShareScan
nQueue, a provider of software accountability solutions, announced the first integrated solution that enables professional services firms to account for and allocate costs of copies, faxes, scans, and prints from the same touch panel used for operating eCopy ShareScan. nQueue Embedded for eCopy ShareScan software solution resides on the eCopy ScanStation hardware, allowing customers to track and recover costs for using their Canon digital copier.
"Professional services firms implement cost recovery systems to recoup their sizeable investment in digital copiers," said Keith Kmetz, program director, Hardcopy Peripherals Solutions and Services at IDC. "nQueue's software-centric implementation for cost recovery makes it an affordable choice by reducing the overall investment needed to automatically track and recoup costs.”
According to Ray Zwiefelhofer, nQueue president and CEO, “The rapid replacement of analog copiers with digital multifunction devices has altered the traditional workflow procedures, creating the challenge of how to best manage and account for these digital transactions. The nQueue Embedded for eCopy solution is software that resides on the existing eCopy hardware, eliminating the need for additional hardware and network drops, resulting in an overall reduction in maintenance, support and hardware costs.”
Unlike other cost recovery solutions that are hardware centric and proprietary, nQueue’s solutions provide a software based, open architecture that better integrates with changing technology and better anticipates future requirements. The nQexpense Recovery Suite specifically addresses the need to track, manage, and bill back expenses associated with copies, prints, faxes, scans and other disbursements. The Suite accommodates both the production department and walk-up activity for all services, seamlessly integrating associated business data. It can be configured to report by user, department, project, client, device, or any way the user defines the environment. Account validation and user identification intelligence help to ensure the accuracy of the data.
"By extending its information accountability software to eCopy ScanStation and developing a Connector to the eCopy Suite, nQueue has lowered the total cost of operation of our combined solutions," said Noel O'Dwyer, eCopy director of strategic alliances. "The nQueue Embedded for eCopy solution allows customers to install, support and use a single interface associated with the copying, scanning, printing and seamless tracking for individual transactions for cost recovery.”
eCopy software enables legal and other professional service firms to transform paper documents into information that is easily integrated into commonly used business applications. Using the eCopy products, firms can provide open access to scanning from a Canon digital copier or scanner that connects to the company's e-mail, fax, document management system and other networked enterprise applications for a low-cost, easy, instantaneous distribution and management of digital copies of paper documents.
