Equitrac Named Bertl's Best in Two Categories

PLANTATION, FL (July 8, 2008) — Equitrac Corporation, the leader in intelligent cost recovery and print management solutions worldwide, today announced its receipt of two distinguished awards bestowed by BERTL, an industry-leading news, research and critical analysis service that has been working in the field of digital imaging systems for more than 15 years.

Recognizing the best solutions in digital imaging technology and innovation each year, this year’s BERTL’s BEST awards mark the second year in a row that the research and testing firm has recognized Equitrac solutions for excellence. Recipients of this year’s BERTL’s BEST 2008 awards include:
-- Equitrac Office 4, Equitrac’s general office print management solution, which was singled out this year for the BERTL’s BEST “Innovation Award – ‘Green’ Office Solution”; and,
-- Equitrac Professional 5, deemed by BERTL for the second year in a row to be the “Best Cost Recovery and Print Management Solution for Professional Service Firms.”

The 13th Annual BERTL’S BEST 2008 award winners were selected after rigorous analysis of hundreds of digital imaging devices, software and management utilities worldwide by experts at the independent product testing and evaluation service.

“Equitrac is very pleased that its leading print management and cost recovery solutions for the office, legal and professional markets have received the distinction of ‘BERTL’S BEST’ again this year,” said Michael Rich, CEO and president, Equitrac. “We are particularly gratified to have had Equitrac Office 4 recognized as an innovative “Green” Office Solution that enables companies to leverage print tracking efficiencies toward reduction of paper waste and to contribute to sustainable printing practices in the general office environment.”

“By designating Equitrac Office 4 and Equitrac Professional 5 as BERTL’s BEST 2008 award-winners, BERTL recognizes the advanced functionality of these solutions in print tracking, cost recovery and sustainable printing practices,” said Margie Davis, Managing Director, BERTL. “Again this year, Equitrac has shown itself to be a premier provider of print tracking and cost management solutions, delivering real value to end users of all major MFP devices in the professional services and office/enterprise environments.”

BERTL’s analyst team cited Equitrac Office 4’s easily implemented, flexible waste reduction “rules” designed to monitor and control scan, copy, print and fax jobs, and its enabling of paper savings through fewer misplaced print jobs and more efficient use of double-sided (duplex) document printing. The research firm also lauded Equitrac Office’s creation of cost and time savings through “intelligent” job routing based on device capabilities, job size, appropriate type of imaging technology, user proximity and other considerations.

In designating EP5 as “Best Cost Recovery and Print Management Solution for Professional Service Firms” for the second year running, BERTL cited the solution’s availability as either an MFP-embedded or terminal based solution, highlighting the solution’s new TouchPoint Console touch-screen interface. Noting integration with all scanning solutions available in the marketplace today, BERTL lauded Equitrac Professional 5 for delivery of complete matter-centric cost recovery on new and legacy office equipment, as well as its “Active Integration” with all leading time and billing systems that automatically exchanges client/matter information and expenses transactions in near real-time. Following on its designation of Equitrac Office as a “green” office solution, BERTL likewise noted the paper-waste reduction benefits of EP5’s ability to eliminate unclaimed printing and reprinting of lost pages.
