Equitrac Office and Express Certified for Windows Server 2003
PLANTATION, FL - Equitrac Corporation, the world leader and most trusted name in intelligent cost recovery and print management solutions, today announced that its award-winning Equitrac Office 4 and Equitrac Express 4 solutions have achieved Microsoft Windows Server 2003 certification at both Standard and Enterprise levels.
Equitrac Office 4 and Equitrac Express 4 attained the distinction after passing Microsoft Windows Server 2003 certification testing at VeriTest, a testing service of Lionbridge. Equitrac Office 4 and Express 4 are comprehensive solutions that let businesses and educational institutions take command of one of the largest unmeasured and uncontrolled costs of doing business -- print management.
Equitrac Office integrates seamlessly in an organization's existing print server architecture, helping enterprises make informed decisions about designing and deploying network printers to increase their manageability stimulate cost-savings and boost efficiency
Equitrac Express provides schools and universities with print tracking and accounting capabilities for managing fleets of print and copy devices, using traditional quota systems. Advanced campus-card technology eliminates free printing, providing central control and management of computer labs, and integration of Pay-for-Print systems linked to the campus card system.
Both Equitrac Express and Office 4 are designed with a new Device Monitoring Engine (DME) that helps administrators remotely monitor, control and optimize their printing and imaging system through the network in real-time with rules-based fault and availability alerts. For increased security, software administration is centralized on the network server, ensuring IT support staff can easily apply and modify account limits to minimize unauthorized use of devices.
The Microsoft Windows Server 2003 certification program was developed by Microsoft, and sets a high technical standard to identify applications that integrate effectively with the Microsoft Windows family of operating systems, and provide high levels of reliability.
"Equitrac is very pleased that its Equitrac Office 4 and Equitrac Express 4 intelligent print management solutions have met Microsoft's stringent requirements for Windows Server 2003,” said Tom Haapanen, Equitrac's Vice President of Product Technology. “Completing this rigorous certification process – especially at the Enterprise level -- demonstrates the advanced levels of integration and interoperability achieved by Equitrac Office 4 and Express 4. This certification will enable our customers in the enterprise and education markets to have high confidence that these standards-based products are well-suited for their IT environments.”
"The completion of certification testing at VeriTest demonstrates Equitrac’s ongoing commitment to their customers and shows IT administrators that Equitrac Office 4 and Equitrac Express 4 solutions will perform with highly reliable results when running within a Windows Server 2003 environment," said Steve Nemzer, Vice President, Global Development and Testing Solutions, Lionbridge.

Equitrac Office supports networked multifunction devices from all major office equipment manufacturers, and has been designed to operate in heterogeneous printer and network environments. Equitrac Express incorporates many of the same features as Office and includes support for card-driven, at-device payment solutions, as well as a color quota management system designed to track and account for expensive color page output.
