Executive Management Changes Announced at TABS
Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) announced several executive promotions following Richard K. Taylor’s recent appointment to president and CEO. Effective immediately, TABS has named Mark E. Mathews as vice president / general manager, Electronic Imaging Division (EID), and Wayne Wilkinson as vice president / general manager, Toshiba Business Solutions (TBS).
“TABS has experienced significant growth since its inception six years ago, and it is important that we retain the strengths of our existing management team to maintain continued success,” said Taylor. “I have had the pleasure of working closely with Mark and Wayne for several years and am confident this will be a seamless transition period, positioning us well for the opportunities that lie ahead.”
Other promotions announced include Yani Yanagihashi as vice president / assistant general manager, EID; Michael Mathé as vice president, International Sales, Marketing and Operations; Stephen Rhorer as vice president, Marketing; Bill Melo as vice president, National Accounts, Marketing and Operations; John Fahey as vice president, National Accounts, Sales; David Hartman as vice president, TBS and Distributor Sales; and Kay Fernandez as director, Product Marketing.
“This new executive team has been carefully selected with the primary focus on taking our company to even greater heights in terms of service and success,” said Taylor. “I have the utmost confidence in each of these individuals and their ability to lead their teams for the collective benefit of our company and our customers.”
Mathews joined Toshiba in 1993, and most recently served as vice president, Marketing where he oversaw product planning, pricing, marketing, public relations, and advertising activities. With more than 15 years of industry experience, Mathews provides expertise on industry trends and technological advances shaping the office products, imaging, and printing industry. Mathews holds two master’s degrees, one in civil engineering from Columbia University and one in business administration from Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles. A recipient of numerous academic honors, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, Mathews also earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering mechanics from the U.S. Air Force Academy.
With Toshiba for almost seven years, Wilkinson most recently served as vice president of the company’s TBS division, a network of acquired Toshiba equipment and solution providers. Wilkinson has overseen the company’s internal growth and acquisition strategy, and managed the integration of acquired operations into TABS’ direct channel operation. Before TABS, Wilkinson was employed by IKON Office Solutions for almost three years. Prior to IKON, Wilkinson was the president and CEO of Office Products Center Inc., an independent office equipment dealer based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, for eight years. Wilkinson holds an Honors degree in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada.
