FMAudit Announces Automation Technology to Identify and Collect Meters of Locally Connected Printers
GT Technologies, the US distributor of the FMAudit product suite, has officially released the patent pending FMAudit Agent software module for public consumption. The Agent module adds further value to the FMAudit product family designed to perform Rapid Print Assessments and On-going Print Management.
The FMAudit product family quickly and easily captures print asset data, including meter counts, from all LAN and/or WAN connected print devices, and delivers invaluable reporting tools for corporate planning and implementation of a more cost effective and productive print strategy.
The patent-pending FMAudit Agent module enables the collection of locally (workstation) connected print asset data. It is not an application, rather a passive service. It resides on the client’s workstation, and only activates upon request, when performing an audit through the FMAudit Viewer or FMAudit On-Site applications.
The FMAudit Agent communicates with the local device, collects the data, feeds it into Viewer or On-Site software, and automatically shuts back down. Depending on the quantity of workstations and end-user preference, the FMAudit Agent is deployed manually, through scripting, and/or SMS.
“The public release of FMAudit Agent represents a significant milestone in our product development strategy. It answers the single-largest customer demand, which is an automation tool to quickly and easily identify locally-connected devices and their associated print volumes of the typically, highest cost-per-page print engines,” stated Rich Piper, Business Development Manager with FMAudit. “More importantly, it enables our partners to penetrate accounts higher and wider, for a broader snapshot of their customer’s print strategy, ultimately resulting in incremental revenue capture of their core products.”
Employing focused design principles, such as intuitive user experience requiring little-to-no IT resources, and non-intrusive technology, the FMAudit products allow companies to concentrate on implementing core-product focused strategies as a result of performing Rapid Print Assessments, rather than having to manage cumbersome assessments themselves.
“FMAudit is in the vanguard position of high-value and high-return print asset identification and management software solutions for the corporate office environment,” said Greg Allen, CEO of GT Technologies. “As a recognized offering within our partner’s solutions portfolios, GT Technologies looks forward to this new and exciting chapter by continuing to help our partners – ranging from MFP dealers to VARs to Office Supply resellers - with improving theirs and their customer’s business processes."
