Global Names New President
Global Imaging Systems, Inc. announced that Michael E. Shea, Jr., 57, senior vice president - sales, has been promoted to president of the company effective immediately. He assumes a position that has been vacant since August 2003 when
CEO Tom Johnson was elected chairman. Mr. Shea has also been appointed to Global's Board of Directors and will stand for reelection at the company's annual shareholder meeting in August 2005.
Tom Johnson, chairman and CEO of Global Imaging Systems, said, "We welcome Michael Shea to the company presidency as part of our planned strategy to support Global's future growth plans. He provides proven management and leadership capabilities combined with strong sales and operational experience. This will serve him well in his new role."
Mr. Johnson said, "The Nominating Committee of our Board of Directors, chaired by independent director Mark A. Harris, directed the process that selected Michael from a number of strong internal candidates. Michael is an entrepreneur, a former company owner, and has spent the past two years as our senior vice president of sales, developing senior level sales management with an emphasis on internal growth across all Global core companies."
He added, "Michael was an outstanding core company president, turning in consistent performance year after year." In 1986, he founded Connecticut Business Systems, which was acquired by Global in 1998. Previously, he spent 14 years with Savin Corporation in numerous management positions, including vice president of sales responsible for dealer and branch operations.
