HP Re-establishes its Imaging and Printing Group
HP announced this week that it has appointed R. Todd Bradley to serve as executive vice president of its Personal Systems Group (PSG). His appointment re-establishes PSG as a standalone business, following its combination in January 2005 with the Imaging and Printing Group (IPG). Vyomesh (V.J) Joshi, who had served as executive vice president of the combined Imaging and Personal Systems Group, will resume his former role as executive vice president of IPG.
Bradley, 46, most recently spent four years at palmOne, Inc., three as president and chief executive officer. Bradley has a 25-year management career with extensive international experience. Prior to palmOne, he spent three years at Gateway, Inc., most recently as executive vice president, global operations, and previously ran its operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa. He has also held senior roles at GE Capital Corp., The Dun & Bradstreet Corp. and FedEx Corp.
"Todd Bradley is an outstanding executive with a long track record of growing businesses, executing against plans and exceeding targets," said Mark Hurd, HP chief executive officer and president. "His experience driving growth and profitability in highly competitive hardware fields makes him well-suited for this position.
"Under VJ's leadership, the PC business has continued to grow and improve its profit margins, and I'd like to congratulate him on those efforts. Now, by managing PSG and IPG as separate, highly focused organizations, we can further sharpen our competitiveness and improve our cost structures."
Cathy Lyons Named Executive VP and CMO
HP today announced that it has appointed Cathy Lyons, a 26-year company veteran, to serve as executive vice president and chief marketing officer (CMO), with immediate effect.
Lyons assumes CMO responsibilities from Mike Winkler, who will focus solely on his other role as executive vice president of HP’s Customer Solutions Group, in which he leads the company’s sales and marketing efforts for enterprise, public sector and small and medium business customers.
Lyons, 48, will report to HP Chief Executive Officer and President Mark Hurd and join the company’s Executive Council. She most recently served as senior vice president of Business Imaging and Printing within the Imaging and Personal Systems Group (IPSG). Previously, she was vice president and general manager of the Supplies business, running worldwide operations for ink and LaserJet printing supplies.
“HP is dedicated to aggressively driving a comprehensive global marketing strategy,” said Hurd. “Cathy’s broad, international experience, her thorough knowledge of HP and her long track record of delivering results make her uniquely qualified to lead this effort.”
