IBM Announces Plan to Acquire FileNet Corporation
IBM and FileNet have entered into a definitive agreement for IBM to acquire FileNet. Upon acquisition close, FileNet's products will be supported, sold and enhanced as part of the IBM Information Management software unit. The FileNet team will become part of a unified organization reporting into IBM Information Management. We believe that the pending acquisition creates attractive new opportunities for you and your organization.
The integration of FileNet's content-centric business process management capabilities with IBM's industry-leading business integration provides the broadest continuum of capabilities for process automation solutions where content management is required. Working as a single organization after closing, we expect to greatly expand and accelerate our delivery of these solutions.
As a result of this acquisition, users will benefit from the vast customer service and support resources available through the world’s largest and most successful software organization. User relationships will be further enriched by IBM’s global account relationships, world-class technical support infrastructure, and other value-added services for customers.
