iDatix announces ScanTag Metadata Capture Support
Clearwater, FL (June 12, 2008) - Muratec America, Inc., manufacturer of multifunction office equipment and business productivity solutions, and iDatix, a leader in business process automation and enterprise document management solutions, announce today a partnership that enables Muratec ScanTag users to easily index newly scanned documents into iSynergy, iDatix’s document management and process automation platform.
Designed for the Muratec MFX-2050, MFX-1450, F-565 and F-525, ScanTag enables users to enter indexing fields on the MFP touchscreen to facilitate document archiving into backend document management applications.
“In order to maximize functionality and insure the success of a document management implementation users require a method of conveniently capturing and indexing hardcopy documents from within their individual workgroup,” said Jim D’Emidio, President, Muratec America, Inc. “With ScanTag users can quickly capture documents from their workgroup Muratec MFP and automatically index them into their iSynergy solution.”
To utilize the ScanTag function a system administrator can register several metadata fields on the MFP using the intuitive browser interface. A user can then walk-up to the MFP, insert their document into the automatic document feeder and select [ScanTag]. Users can then enter the required indexing fields, choose the document file format (TIFF or PDF) and select [Start]. The document will be scanned and converted into the selected file format and the indexing fields will be converted into a CSV file modified for iSynergy. Both files are delivered to a network folder, retrieved by iSynergy and indexed.
“ScanTag and iSynergy are removing tedious and time-consuming steps from the document management process,” said Ivan Pena, Director of Marketing at iDatix. “By providing this seamless link between our technologies, we further our goal to ‘Simplify the Workplace’. We are excited about our new relationship with Muratec and hope to work with them for many years to come.”
