Imagine Technology Group Acquires COPS
Imagine Technology Group, the Chicago-based office equipment dealer acquisition and holding company, announced the purchase of Consolidated Office Products (COPS), a Kyocera Mita copier and fax dealer located in El Paso, Texas. Details of the purchase were not disclosed.
According to Chuck Doolen, President of Consolidated Office Products, Imagine Technology Group will merge his four-year-old business with another Imagine Technology Group-owned office equipment dealer in El Paso, El Paso Triad. With the merger, the newly formed company will be one of the largest office equipment dealers in the El Paso area.
Why the merger of the companies? Imagine Technology Group CEO, John Leinweber explains, “The merger allows us to utilize all of our resources and create a more synergistic approach in this market. Our desire is to have these successful people learn and feed off each other by sharing their best practices. Since Tony and Chuck have worked successfully in the past this was an optimal situation for our company as a whole.”
Doolen, who owned Patterson’s Office Equipment in New Mexico for fourteen years prior to joining El Paso Triad, was impressed with Imagine’s management team and philosophy.
Consolidated Office Products represents Imagine Technology Group’s tenth acquisition. “We continue to look for extraordinary companies and individuals who want to contribute their knowledge, insight and business acumen to Imagine’s success, both inside and outside their market,” added Leinweber.
Imagine Technology Group is headquartered in Chicago, IL, and includes Allstate Private Equity as its major equity partner. Imagine Technology’s overall goal is to acquire document-imaging dealers that have built a reputation of quality, possess a growing customer base and have strong vendor relationships, then encourage and facilitate growth. Other senior managers include David Wilson, Chief Financial Officer, Michael Mills, Vice President of Operations, Tim Keating, Vice President of Sales, and Brian Kempke, Vice President of Service.
