IT Resellers Generate High-Margin Revenue with Tech Data U.S. Services Desk

CLEARWATER, FL - IT products distributor Tech Data Corporation is making it quicker and easier for resellers to purchase, register and renew manufacturer-branded service agreements. The new Tech Data Services Desk, staffed by dedicated channel services specialists, enables the distributor to process order requests faster than ever before, in many cases cutting response times by days for custom service contracts.

"For resellers, manufacturer-branded services are a cost-effective and profitable complement for a wide range of IT solutions," said Barb Miller, Tech Data's vice president, Government, Technical and Integration Services. "They enable resellers to build margins, enhance revenue and leverage the strong brand appeal of leading manufacturers to augment their own professional IT services offerings. The Tech Data Services Desk was established to help resellers take advantage of those opportunities."

The Services Desk supports HP and IBM services, sales of which grew 150 percent during the desk's first three months of operation. Tech Data plans to expand the manufacturer-branded services supported by the team in the coming months. The Services Desk helps resellers research pricing, create quotes, process orders, renew services and develop an array of custom-service agreements for end users in the commercial, government and education sectors.

Tech Data's Service Desk is the latest support offering from the distributor designed to help resellers grow their services revenue. Last month, Tech Data launched MyOpportunityTracker, a free e-business tool resellers use to generate new revenue by tracking renewal opportunities for manufacturer service agreements and warranties. Tech Data also recently expanded its TDOnCall services suite to help resellers more profitably deliver hardware repair services. Through TDOnCall, resellers have access to an extensive array of replacement parts for desktops, laptops, routers and servers, as well as a broad range of repair, refurbish and exchange services for printer parts.
