James Imaging Systems Certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise

Brookfield, WI (May 10, 2011) – A successful family-owned and operated company that sells and services high quality office imaging equipment has recently become a Certified Women’s Business Enterprise. James Imaging Systems, a 35-year-old Brookfield-based company, is the organization that has achieved that distinction, according to Lola A. Tegeder, chairman of the board and chief executive officer.

The certification by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) validates that James Imaging is at least 51 percent owned, controlled, operated, and managed by a woman or women. To achieve the WBE certification, Tegeder’s company completed a formal documentation and site visit process, which was administered by the WBENC. Certification gives women-owned businesses the ability to promote their companies to major corporations that are actively seeking to conduct business with women-owned enterprises.

“Diversity today is a business strategy for growth. Many company’s today want to demonstrate their corporate responsibility by doing business with women- and minority-owned businesses,” she says. “And a recent government mandate requires that five percent of government purchases be made with women-owned businesses. We feel that our new certification will be good for our business as well as the businesses of our clients.”

Lola  Tegeder took over the reins of the company over 20  years ago when her husband, James Tegeder, the company’s founder, died unexpectedly. “She has implemented a family heritage and leadership strategy to position the company for long-term growth,” says her son Tom Tegeder, the company president. “The integrated document technologies we make available enable our clients to operate at much greater efficiencies and at lower costs. This allows them to be competitive, withstand current economic circumstances, and thrive in uncertain times.”

Under the leadership of the mother and son team, James Imaging has established a powerful sales organization, reframed and repositioned the company with an enhanced corporate name, new identity, and a new logo.  They have continued their long-term track record of revenue and net profit growth.

The company is a Toshiba, Konica-Minolta, KIP, Lexmark, and HP office equipment dealer and serves Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee, Racine, Kenosha, Jefferson, and Walworth counties.  James sells and services multifunctional copiers and printers, production print copiers, fax machines, , and wide format printers.

“We also consult on print management to optimize workflow and reduce costs. We provide solutions and equipment that streamlines a company’s information workflow and enables them to run their business more profitably and efficiently,” states Lola.  “Our professionally trained and responsive staff of over  50 people strive to achieve our objective of providing more choices for our clients and adding value by providing customized solutions that address their unique business needs.”
