Job Opening at Panasonic PRODUCT MARKETING SPECIALIST, Copiers/MFPs

Summary of Duties:

  • Basic functions include product planning, launching, and product management of the Segment 1-3 Copier-based multifunctional products.

  • Function as the primary communications interface between the factory and Panasonic Document Imaging (PDIC) areas of product development, product changes, and product scheduling.

  • Responsible for all marketing aspects of the product life cycle for assigned products including: concept, development, introduction, sales support, and ultimate discontinuation and legacy support.

  • Specific accountabilities include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Work as liaison with factory marketing and product planning personnel, and PDIC engineers, and sales managers to provide leadership, input, and direction to future products for development consistent with business goals.

  • Responsible for developing product Launch kits including brochures, sales handbooks, configuration guides, presentations, direct mailers, price lists, press releases, Internet/Intranet site postings, introductory promotions and other collateral material.

  • Attend Launch events, if any, such as launch meetings, “road-shows,” press events, or other unveilings.

  • Support to product and sales training as required by training department.

  • Presentations to dealers, customers, prospects and the media as well as interviews and support to industry analysts and news media.

  • Trade show support.

  • Promotional ideas to assist in maintaining adequate level of sales.

  • Product discontinuation and legacy support – to ensure a smooth transition between products and proper customer support, accountabilities include:

  • Input into proper product inventory levels at end of life.

  • Maintenance of end-user documentation and creating promotions that assist customers in acquisition of additional PDIC products.

  • Travel to company events is required and expected to be around 15% of workdays that may also include travel over weekends. Overseas travel may also be required and a valid passport is expected.

Qualifications Requested:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering required. MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) years product management, product planning, or product marketing in the copier, printer, or computer industry.

  • Experience with networking and computer peripherals is highly desirable.

  • Proficient with Windows-based PC including software such as the entire MS Office Pro suite including MS Access and MS Project.

  • Strong written, negotiation and verbal communication capabilities, including presentations to internal/external contacts, are required.

  • Must have excellent problem solving capabilities with a minimum of intervention from management.

  • Able to travel as required.
