Judge Rules Against Static Control

Sanford, NC. – February 27, 2003 -- Judge Karl Forester, Chief Judge for the Eastern District of Kentucky, has ruled against Static Control and issued a preliminary injunction in favor of Lexmark International Inc of Lexington Kentucky. While Static Control is disappointed in his order, they believe that after the judge or a jury has heard a full exposition of the facts that they will prevail.

Judge Forester has signed a 53 page order on the matter which Static Control is studying. Nevertheless, Static Control believes that the judge has given enough guidance in this matter to be able to offer a replacement Lexmark 520/620 chip that fully complies with his order. This should take place in a very few weeks.

A press conference is being scheduled for Monday, March 3 on the matter.
