KODAK SCANMATE i920 Delivers Powerful Scanning in a Compact Package
ROCHESTER, NY - July 1, 2011—The new KODAK SCANMATE i920 Scanner is ideal for small office spaces and enables businesses of all sizes to easily digitize a versatile range of documents from almost any location. Users can now receive many of the same benefits found in other KODAK desktop scanning devices, within a sleek, compact desktop scanner.
“The increased speed of business today has fueled a need to quickly digitize paper-based records and then access the information within them from web-based or cloud-based applications, like the Microsoft® SharePoint,” said Budd Webster, Director of Scanning, Document Imaging, Kodak’s Business Solutions and Services Group. “The KODAK SCANMATE i920 Scanner is an affordable way for offices to organize, share and access documents of all types.”
The KODAK SCANMATE i920 scans color documents at 15 pages per minute (ppm) and black-and-white documents at 20 ppm, and has both single-sided and double-sided scanning modes.
Kodak’s Smart Touch functionality, embedded within the i920 Scanner, helps businesses to benefit from multi-tasking capabilities by automating the digitization of documents to PDFs, JPEGs, TIFFs, MS Word and other files, directly into email, web-mail, SharePoint, network folders and other software. Smart Touch also provides additional capabilities such as “key search word” functions and automatic document separation as well as integration into numerous third-party software applications for greater sharing and collaboration.
The i920 Scanner’s advanced image-enhancement features provide greater image clarity and improved data extraction efficiencies, also typically found in larger distributed scanners. Kodak’s unique Perfect Page Technology offers white-level tracking, deskew, fixed rotation, automatic cropping and border correction, and automatic color detection, in addition to iThresholding and Adaptive Threshold Processing. Users also have an option of purchasing KODAK Capture Pro Software with their i920 hardware.
The SCANMATE i920 Scanner helps address the needs of both departments and individual users, from capturing business cards to extra-long documents. Notably, it handles a wide variety of card-size documents, including identification cards, driver's licenses, insurance cards and even embossed hard cards. For additional card functionality, the i920 Scanner enables easy capture and management of contact information from business cards with the bundled NEWSOFT PRESTO! BIZCARD software. For greater flexibility, the included TWAIN and ISIS drivers allow for easy incorporation with third-party software.
“Kodak continues to work with an extensive network of distributors, resellers and customers, to better understand how effective document management solutions like the i920 Scanner can help to improve internal collaboration and overall business processes,” said Tony Barbeau, General Manager, Document Imaging, Kodak’s Business Solutions and Services Group. “From the cross-departmental branch manager to the small-to-mid-sized business, Kodak’s distributed scanning solutions provide users with a beneficial return on investment that meets the needs of their organization.”
