Konica Business Technologies' FAX 9765

Konica Business Technologies, Inc., an innovation leader in digital imaging solutions and a subsidiary of Konica Corporation, announced that its FAX 9765 received a "Highly Recommended" rating from Buyers Laboratory, Inc. (BLI), an independent office products testing laboratory. Independent from advertising dollars, BLI conducts unbiased tests on more than 100 different office products per year. At the end of each testing period, a report is produced detailing each product's capabilities including reliability, efficiency, cost and image quality.

Following BLI's rigorous three-month analysis, the compact FAX 9765, equipped with a 33.6-Kbps modem that scans at a BLI-tested speed of 4.9 seconds per page, was determined to be one of the least expensive, high-volume units currently available. Furthermore, it offers a per-page supply cost and an overall cost per reception that are among the lowest in its class. It also delivers convenient maintenance with its developer/drum unit and separate toner cartridge.

BLI stated, "Unlike the majority of units tested to date, the FAX 9765 demonstrated good procedures when the size of the file exceeds memory capacity by scanning additional pages to memory as memory becomes available. In addition, the unit dials the destination and begins transmitting while pages are being scanned to memory."

Technicians also reviewed the following FAX 9765 features: 20 timers for delayed operations; 16 mailboxes for confidential receptions; access codes; and a message confirmation image feature, in which part of the first page of an image is printed on the transmission report, making it quicker and easier for users to identify their reports. Additionally, the technicians evaluated the unit's remote diagnostics, and its print operation key that allows users to print received faxes (with the appropriate password), which are stored in memory even when toner is low.

"The FAX 9765 exemplifies how fax technology has evolved, offering small to medium-sized workgroups not only faxing capabilities, but printing, scanning and copying options all in one compact unit," said Kevin Kern, vice president, product development and support, Konica Business Technologies.

A member of Konica's award winning line of faxes, the FAX 9765 is fully compliant with the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy StarĀ® program, signifying low power usage by computers and peripherals. A "power save mode" automatically reduces power usage to 12 watts when inactive and a "toner save mode" can be programmed for more economical toner usage.
