Konica Minolta and ScanSoft Make Agreement
Nuance Communications, Inc., formerly ScanSoft, Inc., and Konica Minolta Printing Solutions U.S.A. announced that the companies have signed a worldwide license agreement wherein ScanSoft PaperPort SE will be bundled as the document management standard with the Konica Minolta laser all-in-ones (AIOs).
Under this agreement, Konica Minolta will bundle ScanSoft PaperPort SE from Nuance with the new magicolor 2480 MF, PagePro 1380 MF, and PagePro 1390 MF laser all-in-ones. PaperPort allows people to quickly organize all of their PC files, including scanned paper, PDF files, digital documents and photographs. The product does this by combining complete support for PDF files and the convenience of All-in-One Search into an easy-to-use desktop application.
"ScanSoft PaperPort SE is a perfect document management and imaging software companion for our all-in-one product line," stated Steve Fletcher, president and COO of Konica Minolta Printing Solutions. "Ease-of-use is a top design strategy in the development of all KONICA MINOLTA products. PaperPort's ability to simplify the cumbersome aspects of document management complements the user-friendliness of our new laser all-in-ones."
PaperPort makes it easy to reduce paper and create an organized office. Correct, edit, annotate, merge or reorder pages of scanned documents with any digital file including Microsoft Office files in secure PDF format using the included ScanSoft PDF Create. Users can even scan from a networked digital copier and have the electronic document automatically moved across the network to their PC by PaperPort. This makes scanning as easy as making a copy, while saving on the expense of paper and toner.
