Konica Unveils New Sales Force
Konica Business Technologies, Inc. (Konica), the innovation leader in digital imaging solutions and a subsidiary of Konica Corporation, announced a new organizational structure for its Direct Sales Division. Responding to the business needs of the marketplace and Konica's business development goals, the reorganization is a move away from the division's traditional sales force structure to a team concept. Under the team concept, the sales force will consist of four groups: major account representatives, top-tier sales representatives, color sales representatives and information processing specialists, all supported by key account managers.
With the new structure, there will be fewer traditional major account sales positions and the creation of top-tier sales positions. To fill these positions, Konica is seeking to attract top sales talent in the networking office products industry to cultivate new relationships with senior level executives within a customer's organization. The existing major account representatives will continue to handle Konica's core sales business, while the color sales representatives will provide expertise pertaining to Konica's growing color imaging product line. The information processing specialists will serve as customer consultants, supplementing the efforts of the major account, color and top-tier sales representatives in determining how Konica's solutions can positively impact a customer's overall business. This organizational structure will be implemented immediately in all of Konica's 44 branch locations.
During 2002, Konica's Direct Sales Division will also unveil 15 state-of-the-art solution demonstration centers in targeted metropolitan areas across the country. These centers will showcase Konica's complete line of digital imaging solutions, color products and applications, allowing customers to view Konica's solutions first-hand in a real world environment. To further support its customers, Konica is also considering the addition of four new branches next year. The new sales structure, and the introduction of the solution centers and new branches, will be implemented to better service the customer and to support the sales team's efforts to promote Konica's expanding line of black and white and color products, as well as its software applications.
