Konica's 7075 Enterprise Document System Rates High in OPA Study
Konica Business Technologies, Inc. (Konica), the innovation leader in digital imaging solutions and a subsidiary of Konica Corporation, recently received ``high'' ratings for the 7075 Enterprise Document System, a powerful digital printer/copier designed to handle the rigors of high-volume environments, in Office Products Analyst's (OPA) Annual Copier Reliability Survey. The ``high'' ratings were based on in-depth telephone surveys of 214 dealership service managers across the country.
The OPA study encompassed 16 current and discontinued models in the 70+ CPM speed range, including both analog and digital imaging systems. Of the 16 machines tested, Konica's 7075 digital document system earned the highest rating for reliability. The ratings were compiled using a scale of one to 10, with ``10'' being the highest possible rating. The ratings were then converted into percentages. The weighted average for the copiers included in the study was 77.3% for digital, 77.6% for analog, with Konica's 7075 achieving a rating of 85.0%, significantly above the average.
``OPA's recognition of the 7075 embodies the true value of this enterprise document system to customers in the high-volume arena,'' said Kevin Kern, vice president, product development and support, Konica Business Technologies. ``Due to its reliability, speed and advanced features, it is the perfect tool for any enterprise searching for ways to minimize downtime and to improve workflow. Designed specifically for the print-on-demand production environment, it is simple enough for any untrained operator to use, and reliable enough to go the long haul.''
Upon completion of the survey, OPA prepares a ``Recommended Purchase'' list consisting of those models with an average reliability rating of 85% or higher. This list is based on the perceptions of the service managers who were interviewed for the study and who have serviced each model. The 7075 was recommended based on those criteria, averaging an impressive 83,012 copies between emergency service calls.
Highlights of the 7075 include: Real-time/dual-scanning technology: a sheet-through scanning process that reduces the number of moving parts, therefore increasing reliability and efficiency
