Kyocera Mita America Launches Two New Color ECOSYS Desktop Printers

FAIRFIELD, N.J. – December 1, 2010 - Kyocera Mita America, Inc., one of the world's leading document solutions companies, today announced the launch of two new color printers, the FS-C5250DN and the FS-C5150DN.  As part of Kyocera’s ECOSYS® line of environmentally friendly printers, both Energy Star certified models utilize long-life consumables while consistently delivering high-quality image output.

Kyocera’s ECOSYS printers bring new levels of efficiency and performance combined with Kyocera low total cost of ownership to business color printing.  With Kyocera’s ECOSYS technology, these new printers deliver the consistent quality, manageability and ultra reliability that Kyocera is recognized for throughout the industry.

The FS-C5250DN and FS-C5150DN both feature 600 dpi color with durable monthly maximum duty cycles of 65,000 pages for the FS-C5250DN (28 pages-per-minute) and 50,000 pages for the
FS-C5150DN (23 ppm).  Both models can print a broad range of materials made of a variety of paper stock, and come standard with a 500-sheet input tray and a standard 50-sheet multi-purpose tray (MPT) (FS-C5250DN) and a 250-sheet input tray and a standard 50-sheet MPT (FS-C5150DN).  In addition to paper-saving standard duplexing, the printers offer optional 500-sheet paper feeders that can support media up to 120 lb index through the MPT.  Maximum paper capacity (with options) is an impressive 2,050 sheets for the FS-C5250DN and 1,300 sheets for the FS-C5150DN from multiple paper sources to minimize refilling and changing paper types.

“Today’s organizations are looking for printing devices that help to manage costs, while meeting the internal demand for vibrant business color,”  said William Cassidy, director, product marketing, Kyocera Mita America. “The FS-C5250DN and FS-C5150DN workgroup printers allow organizations to enhance their in-house color output capabilities, better manage print costs and maximize efficiency.”

To maximize workgroup productivity and efficiency, the FS-C5250DN and FS-C5150DN feature standard networking, 256MB of memory (upgradeable to 1.28GB), high-speed USB 2.0 connectivity, PDF and  Microsoft XPS file printing capability and departmental accounting or tracking capabilities for up to 100 account codes.  A front mounted USB Host printing slot provides mobile users access to files they want to print directly on the printer from a USB memory card.  Users can navigate through three folder levels, as well as selecting the number of prints directly from the LCD operation panel. Supported file formats include PDF, XPS, TIFF and JPG.

The Kyocera FS-C5250DN and FS-C5150DN include standard Network Connectivity which includes support for SSL, IPsec, IPv4 and IPv6 (Internet Protocol versions 4 and 6) to help provide the utmost document security and user protection, and integrates seamlessly with virtually any network environment.

And for businesses looking to integrate their office equipment with existing document network and device solutions to greatly reduce overhead costs, protect sensitive and confidential documents, end users can include Kyocera’s value-added printer solutions like the KX Driver, KMnet Admin, KMnet Viewer, Color Optimizer, Status Monitor and PRESCRIBE.  PRESCRIBE is Kyocera’s unique printer control language which allows customization to a variety of user environments including host printing, forms, and specialized output requirements without requiring complex and lengthy integration engagements.
