Lanier Introduces Digital Color Laser Printer for Connected Workgroups
Lanier Worldwide, Inc. announced the launch of the Lanier 2138 Digital Color Printer, a new solution that delivers all the capabilities of a network printer, a high-quality black-and-white laser printer, and a fast digital color printer. The system is available as of October 15, 2001.
`It produces 28 full-color or 38 black-and-white pages per minute at 1200 dpi resolution. As a color laser printer, its high-quality output is ideal for reports, presentations, proposals and other business documents. As a network printer, its interface offers point-and-click simplicity.
It also offers features and options typically reserved for high-end black-and-white copiers -- such as on-line document finishing, automatic duplexing and an extra large paper supply. This expanded feature set -- combined with its three-in-one functionality -- makes the Lanier 2138 a value for connected workgroup environments.'
Professional finishing options on the Lanier 2138 include stapling, hole-punching, duplexing and offset stacking. Finishing does not affect productivity -- the system produces finished documents at the normal rated speed. The standard paper capacity is 1,100 sheets and can be expanded to 3,100 sheets with an optional large capacity cassette. For added convenience, the 2138 accepts a wide range of printing media, from 90 lb. index and cover stocks to transparencies and labels.
The Lanier 2138 is designed for quick installation and easy setup as a network printing solution. It attaches to the LAN like a standard black-and-white laser printer, and operates in virtually any network environment.
