Lanier Worldwide Introduces Fast Network Laser Printer for Color and Black-and-White Applications

Designed for workgroups or individual users, the Lanier AP206 is an affordable, high-quality desktop printer that delivers six full-color or 24 black-and-white pages per minute. Standard features include a compact footprint, compatibility with Microsoft® Windows® and Macintosh® platforms, and state-of-the-art desktop print management utilities. The new printer will be available immediately.

In addition to its quick print speed, the Lanier AP206 offers a first print time of 17.5 seconds for black-and-white documents and 25 seconds for full-color files. For mixed originals, the Black Page Detection feature ensures that all black-and-white pages are printed at 24 ppm. This performance optimization not only cuts print time for large mixed originals, it increases cost-efficiency because one-color pages are not printed with the more intensive four-color process. Regardless of its content, every page prints at true 1200 x 600 dpi resolution.

The Lanier AP206 comes standard with a 250-sheet paper tray that accommodates 18 to 43 lb. bond paper, enabling users to print on transparencies, card stock, envelopes and labels. Options include a 500-sheet letter-size tray that minimizes reloading, a 250-sheet legal-size tray for large-format (8.5" x 14") printing, and an optional duplex unit for two-sided printing.

For workgroups, this printer also offers a long list of convenient features. It works in Windows or Macintosh environments, so users running either operating system can share the same printer. An optional network interface board enables network printing and supports all major network protocols, including Internet Printing Protocol for remote printing via the Internet.

Utilities include the advanced Aficio® Manager for simple printer status monitoring, PortNavi® for automatically redirecting jobs to another printer, Parallel Printing for sending a single job to up to 11 different systems, and Job End Notification for alerting network users when print jobs are finished.
